Compromise: slavery only on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Will that do??
Well, Kelly’s been compromised more than anybody–except maybe Flynn and Manafort and Pence and Mitch and Paulie and the others, but I don’t thinks this makes him an authority on the Civil war.
But possessing little to no knowledge on any particular subject has never stopped Badministration members from giving their opinions.
I guess this means we should invite ISIS over for dinner and hash things out.
So Kelly is setting himself up as the new Trump? The candidate for the future? And to think we all thought he was an honorable man. Just another common variety racist.
Rats! I wish he wasn’t a four star general so I could disagree.
Kelly said that Americans should not “take what is today accepted as right and wrong” and apply it to history.
Ooooookay.
So the holocaust was just a sign of the times and we shouldn’t draw any moral lessons from that?
And “right” includes baldly lying about a congresswoman and not apologizing to her.
This man is such a disgusting lying POS. He has forsaken the Marine motto of “Semper Fi” for a personal motto of “Semper F.U.”
Giving up the right to own another person was asking for too much I guess. How do you negotiate around that?
Robert E. Lee was an honorable man. He was just wrong.
General Kelly wins another gold star in the Ass Backwards Ignorant Olympics.
He’s right. Well said too.
Me thinks he’s a couple stars short in the head when it comes to empathy but thats what you get when your warrior mentality takes over.
Robert E. Lee had the chance to free his slaves after his father died when he requested that their slaves be freed in his will and Lee would not do it. Civil war nothing to do with slavery, nope nothing at all. What a crock.
Yes, he’s conservative and possesses a command of the language combined with good diction. In that your assessment is correct.
Shows how spot on Lawrence O was.
“But the lack of an ability to compromise led to the Civil war,” he added. “And men of women of good faith on both sides made their stand, where their conscience had them make their stand.”
“As I would not be a slave, so I would not be a master. This expresses my idea of democracy. Whatever differs from this, to the extent of the difference, is no democracy.”
-Abraham Lincoln ®
"It was always loyalty to state first, back in those days, and now it’s different today,” Kelly told Ingraham.
In order to defend Gen. Lee, Gen. Kelly conveniently forgets the thousands of southerners, from privates to generals, who fought for the United States and against slavery. These were the people on the right side of history and the right side of the moral issue of their day - they are the soldiers that Army bases should be named for - perhaps one of the army bases in Virginia should be renamed after Gen. Winfield Scott who, like Robert E. Lee, was a Virginian, but one who remained loyal to the United States.
Kelly is SCUM, scum I say!
