Discussion: John Kasich: I Wouldn't Have Signed The Anti-LGBT Bill That Passed In N Carolina

“I did, however, sign multiple bills making it incredibly difficult for a woman to have an abortion in Ohio if she wants, even though it’s her constitutional right.”

Fuck you and your “moderate Republican” shtick.

“…But when you get beyond that, it begins to be a tricky issue. Tricky’s not the right word. But it can become a contentious issue.”

… spoken like a true mealy-mouthed, clammy-handed, liquid-spined, political shill… they broke the mold when they made this one…

Sorry Gov.
Nobody really cares.
Maybe your family.
But probably not.

Awww, how cute! Kasich is pretending to be that virtually extinct species known as “a moderate Republican.”

Kasich got that half right which is better than one would expect from a GOP candidate. It is definitely a contentious issue when you have to contend with the religious fundamentalists who won’t be satisfied until they can replace our representative republic with an Evangelical theocracy. But Kasich would see that there is nothing tricky about it if he would take the time to read the first clause of the First Amendment.

We’re all lucky he’s not going to be the nominee, since we’ll be spared what would be a nauseating campaign by Chuck Toad, Georgie Poofanopulous, and David Brooks to convince the voting public that Kasich is really just a helluva nice guy who wants the best for all Americans.

It would actually be smart for Cruz to pick Kasich as his Veep. I know they’ve said some harsh stuff about each other, but so did Reagan and GHWB during their 1980 primary campaigns against each other, and they buried the hatchet to the advantage of both of them.

John Kasich: I Wouldn't Have Signed The Anti-LGBT Bill That Passed In N Carolina
Republican presidential candidate Ohio Gov. John Kasich said Saturday that he wouldn't have voted for the anti-LGBT bill that was passed in North Carolina at the end of March.

Wouldn’t have signed? or Wouldn’t have voted for? Probably the former, but inquiring minds want to know.

THIS! Those three plus Blitzer would bend over backwards to help Kasich look like a moderate. Notice whenever he is interviewed that no one queries him about his horrible women’s rights record?

Mississippi Governor: I wouldn’t have signed that bill either.
Pence (Indiana Gov): Me neither.

When people wonder what happened to the Dixiecrats…well they are alive and well in every Republican Party in the old Confederacy. And in quite a few Union states too.

Screw him: he does sign anti-women health legislation in Ohio.

The phony “moderate” strikes again!

Hmm I had no idea the Dixiecrats were a separate party. Of course I’m spectacularly uninformed compared to most TPM’ers.

One of the cases combined into Obergefell vs Hodges was Obergefell vs Kasich.

it’s easy to be hypothetically courageous when presented with a hypothetical situation…

real courage would be if you actually called for the repeal of both the North Carolina law AND the Mississippi law as well as disavowing any pending laws or potential laws in other states…

looking at you TN for one…

Yes, he wouldn’t have signed this. He would have signed a much more cryptic, far more damaging version of this bill. Then, he would have shrugged it off with his “aww shucks, golly gee!” bullshit way about him. I’m telling you, he is still in this because they are going to steal the nomination for him. There is little other explanation.

BS… This ass signed the bill to DE-FUND Planned Parenthood a couple of weeks ago! But of course the interviewer won’t mention that disgusting FACT!
