Kasich, have you ever attempted to read a book?
Or even re-eating
WHAT COULD GO WRONG!?
yep. fire awayā¦
A rather risky question to ask a woman I think.
Heās a classic, Bush style right wing winger: he appears reasonable, but his policies hurt the vulnerable.
Kasich is the 50ās guy in the latest Flo Progressive insurance commercial, the one who says āWhereās your husbandā? after she tells him āOK. Enough out of you.ā Generally I donāt like her commercials, but I liked this one.
No big deal, but in Richmond, his condescending (and creepy) āsure you get invited to all the partiesā
line was to a different young woman than his condescending āTaylor Swift ticketsā line.
Nice to see heās working up some fresh material with which to connect with the estrogen crowdā¦
I have watched Arrested Development a couple of times at your suggestion, pretty funny. I also discovered Jane The Virgin and watch a few episodes every night. Iād heard about it but never got around to it, and I love it. Have you seen it? I give it four stars. Let me know if you have.
Iām not patient with this kind of stupidity anymore, lifeās too short not to be frank about recognizing stupid.
1950ās-style oblivious misogyny. Where have these guys been for the last 60 years ā patiently waiting in their pods?
This is one reason why Kasich isnāt sliding in to the Jeb!-shaped hole left by that implosion. For all that he looks sensible and measured next to the rest of the field, heās a fundamentally nasty, nasty person. Meaner than Chris Christie, and whatās worse, less able to control himself.
Donāt take my word for it: ask his Ohio Republican colleagues.
So this is the best they got? Really?
I must admit I find this exchange rather inoffensive (who havenāt been on a diet ?) , but I guess we are less well manered in Scandinaviaā¦
I have not, but you and a few others have recommended Jane the Virgin, so, I will give it a whirl. With Arrested Development, you have to stay with it. It rewards you for your loyalty, by referencing jokes all through out the series. And the characters hit their stride as the show progresses. Stay with it. Trust me.
I will stay with it. I found enough that was arresting about its humor to want to see more, for example the scene where the father is in jail wearing an orange jumpsuit and black do rag because obviously heās feeling at home.
The father is great (George Bluth). My two personal favorites are Gob Bluth (Will Arnettā¦heās Gob like Jeb is John Ellis Bush. Itās really George Oscar Bluth) and Tobias (David Cross). But they are all great. I wish I could be where you are right now, and watch it again for the first time. Oh, how I envy you.
I have to elaborate on Jane The Virgin. I recommended it to a friend who loves sitcoms, she tried it and didnāt like it. Now that Iāve seen about 17 episodes I think I know what she means. The actress, Gina Rodriguez improves over time. She started out a little unsure of herself it seems, but 17 episodes later, I can see a difference. She has more confidence, more spark, and seems to be enjoying herself but still remains a very sweet young woman who finds herself pregnant while being a virgin.
So if you find yourself saying āIs that all there is (but you wonāt)ā, give it a little time The show is at times a satirical approach to telenovelas, the Spanish-language soaps that are so popular, and that aspect alone is worth watching.
