Discussion: JoeScar Smacks Down Clinton Campaign Manager For Dodging On Syria (VIDEO)

This was just dumb.

Looks like that meeting with Trump went well.

The situation in Syria is extremely tense right now. Mook shouldn’t be saying much of anything himself. Let Clinton make a statement, if she wishes.

That’s what he tried to say…but whatever. HRC needs to come up with a better answer for her surrogates AND for herself. That foreign policy debate is coming up!

Compared to the Trump campaign’s response of “Bomb them and take their oil” or “basically let Putin do whatever” and the Johnson campagin’s “what’s Aleppo?”

Clintons campaign manager not shoving words into her mouth and not wading hip deep into “got’cha” traps is hardly “getting smacked down”.

A general complaint I have with TPM’s coverage of political tv shows is that they rarely fact check GOP statements. The reporters simply repeat them uncritically.

Yet, here, with Mook, TPM actually fact checked him, as they often do with Democrats.

Why not fact check Republicans, too? I realize the GOP Gish Gallop is almost impossible to fact check in the space allotted for these blurbs, but at least point the GG out when it’s being employed, and fact check in all other instances.

What a fantastic example of how they would never treat Trump or his surrogates.

Has any Drumpf surrogate, much less Donnie himself, ever given a direct, concise, factual response to any question they’ve ever been asked? Nope.

I mean, we may be tiptoeing into Gary Johnson territory here if you don’t know the answer to that basic of a question. What is the response to Aleppo? Then why do we have you here?”

ummmm no it isn’t.

She supported the drawing of the red line. Obviously she was out of her office when Assad used chemical weapons. Was it a mistake to draw the red line if the President was not willing to do something about it when it was crossed?”

Let’s ask Congress, because the failure to address the Syrian AUMF is a relevant issue.

Anyhow, depending on who is asked, there are no declared chemical weapons in Syria. Yayyyyyyy.

Well of course not, they’re not trying to drag out debate ammunition for the Clinton campaign after all

And that’s what this was, an attempt to get quotes Trump could use in the debates, Thankfully Mook is smarter than Joe and didn’t take the bait

Huh. “You’ll have to ask the candidate” is a line that seems to work pretty well for Kellyanne. She has used it again and again and the pushback is usually crickets.

its not impossible to fact check folks. The researcher might run into a ‘wall’ or two, but impossible? no. Personally, I blame Mook (up to a point) for not knowing satisfactory answers to these questions. Now the Syrian AUMF was submitted three years ago and it went nowhere.

Now I can understand why Geist is who he is, because like dogs chasing after buses, he really needed an answer to a question that congressmen are still running from. However the idea of it still being relevant says a lot about faulty memories as it does actually caring about folks.

here’s an answer

Ask McConnell or Cornyn to justify the continued use of the Iraqi AUMF in regards to our current war with ISIL.

Or for commercials, but yeah, it’s a pretty blatantly loaded question. He asks what her biggest regret was, they give a specific answer and suddenly the guy is in a commercial quoting him or showing footage of him while a voice-over says “Clinton admitted that the debacle in Syria is her fault.”

Not surprising to see the effect of the trump meeting on the morning republican show.

Reporters? LOL.

“Smacks down.”

I guess this is supposed to scare someone. If anything, it’s a good feint to get Trump to come into the Debate more overconfident than he should.

Because, in policy discussions, it is not good enough to announce that something is a “disaster” without proposing something concrete one thinks is better. In WWII, Churchill was obsessed with the Balkans. FDR was not. The reasons for each stance involved policy and policy discussions.

Debate things.

As far as JoeSchmo, his show is the last one I would use as a platform for fair treatment of the two candidates.

At some point, if this ridiculous, MSM/Lucre-driven HorseRace keeps up, Americans are going to have to decide to pull the plug and treat this man Trump like every other candidate…with accountability. It may not be the MSM which does it. It may come from responsible American adults from all sectors of this country.

Representative Democracy is at stake

Guess they kissed The Donald’s ring.

I don’t even have a problem with these types of questions and follow ups. However, you can’t just do it for HRC. That’s why it’s all Bullshit, IMO.

who cares what Joe Scar says I never watch his show. He is an x Republican congressman with a past that deserves examination. dead body found in his office and accusation of it being a former lover never investigated. does not sound like a guy I care to listen to. pot kettle black sounds correct where he is concerned. him of the hair rising hair pompadour, just reminds me of someone himm,

In fairness… She very rarely knows the answer anyway. About the only thing consistent about Trump is his inconsistency.
