The point was perfectly illustrated this morning Mark ask a legitimate question about Trumpâs taxes, he refused to answer and then everyone moved on. I am sure all the candidates would call in if those were the rules for them. In fact, if anyone else had done that, there would have been a 5 minute follow up discussion and query to the candidate.
I cannot even image what Joe would say if Hillary refused to answer. You can either do journalism or do a commercial/ratings bump; but you cannot do both

I imagine it is more of a Quid pro quo situation than actual compensation at this point.

I think MIka was right. It would help their image if other candidates called in. Donât they have producers or is Trump the only candidate who has their phone number.
That is, if you believe a Hillary Clinton call-in would be treated with the same kid gloves as Trumpâs. I donât for one second.

That is a problem I have with daily TV, they cater to Dumpster and allow him to caterwaul away without any meaningful discussion of how hurtful, harmful the Dumpster actually is. Excample: This morning George on ABC just sat there with his thumb up his ass letting Dumpster say whatever he pleased not once did he even attempt to ask a question that had a smidgen of substance. Total waste of airtime, they would have been better off putting more ânewsâ commercials for Dancing With The Stars on, would have had much more substance.
I suspect these guys know that their ratings would not be helped if they didnât treat Hillary with kid gloves. Remember they are looking to improve their ratings. They want be seen as the place where candidates can go for a morning fluffing.
And this! CBS refuses to let Donald Trump phone into CBS This Morning. Trump routinely makes the rounds on all the morning shows via phone for the free publicity, even when heâs in New York City, although his residence and offices in Trump Towers are only blocks away. Whattaâ lazy bastard.

Well, I do watch the evening programming there at least a couple of times a week. If they didnât have this blatant insult to my intelligence on in the morning, I might watch them then, too.

I am not defending Mikaâs point of view here - HOWEVER, she is being promoted on the publicity circuit as a model for strong women everywhere. I am always dumbfounded when I see one of those ads when she is constantly in the role of the patronized, subservient female on the show.
