Discussion for article #240832
While a lot of real hardcore, rock-rib conservatives like Ted Cruz are saying, âWhatâs happening? We like Jews! We love Israel! We donât believe in religious tests!
It's encouraging to Democrats that the mainstream media has to point to Ted Cruz as an island of sanity and sound judgement in the GOP Prez nominee field.
This is the end result of the Nixon / Reagan âSouthern Strategy.â Too late, Moaninâ Ho. Your party sought these people out. Not our fault you canât control them any longer.
âWhat are you? A pharisee? Are you a judge of one on whoâs a good American?â
Scarborough continued: âThatâs my job!!â
Old white yankees love this guy. My mom and her pals think heâs just the best. No idea why, Carson, of all these people gets the seal of approval from pleasant kindly seniors. Maybe heâs a good stool softener. Dunno.
This guy is bad news. Maybe a nice man in some ways but epistomologically closed off and quite possibly deranged.
[1] Edit: Actual quote from Dr. Bengue:
âBy believing we are the product of random acts, we eliminate morality and the basis of ethical behavior.ââŚâFor if there is no such thing as moral authority, you can do anything you want,â - Typical fundamentalist BS.
I find it fascinating that Dr. Ben CARSON âcorrectedâ himself
regarding a MUSLIM wishing to be US President
If someone has a Muslim background and theyâre willing swear
to place our Constitution above their religion ⌠I would then be
quite willing to support them," he said.
AT THE SAME TIME
Kim Davis, the Kentucky clerk who was jailed for refusing to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples, explained why she will continue to oppose same-sex marriage.
When asked who Davis considers her boss: her constituents, God, or the federal government.
âI canât put my name on a license that doesnât represent what God ordained marriage to be, The main authority that rules my life is the Lord,â Davis responded.
WHAT IS GOING ON HERE?
The latest bit of insanity in the Lowest Common Denominator primary - Joe Scarborough is starting to sound reasonable. Ted Cruz is being hailed as a example of a moderate Republican. The GOP managed to find a stupid neurosurgeon. Up is east. Black is white.
Itâs just a signal that the real power brokers want Carson to sit back and let Trump take all the credit. Is it just me, or has anyone else noticed how Trump and Carson defer to each other, like during the debates? My stab with the tea leaves (no pun intended) is that Carson is slated to be Trumpâs VP if it goes that far.
âWhatâs happening?
Whatâs happening is that, predictably, when you lie down with dogs, you get up with fleas. The GOP has cultivated the bigot vote to such an extent that itâs all theyâve got left & they canât deny that part of the party because itâs become their sole base.
Hello, Iâm here to invite you to get an Overton window replacement.
Sincerely,
The MSM
NoâŚBlack is definitely not white. Not in GOPLand.
Actually, there is some pretty impressive political maneuvering going on here.
Trump let some idiot babble on about Muslim hating/Obama hating at one of his rallies, and gave him an encouraging answer. The media, somewhat surprising, went after Trump for that. Carson then waded into the discussion, essentially defending Trump and in his novice way, trying to garner some of the Trump lightning in a bottle.
Trap sprung!
Trump then immediately backed away from the entire mess and declared that a Muslim can indeed be President. The media latches on to the one caught in the trapâŚCarson. Carson, lacking the mad thumb skills Trump has on twitter, fumbles about, unable to get out of the trap too.
It was impressive to watch this go down, I have to admit.
Iâd actually go even further and say they âbuilt that.â These people were on their way to becoming rarities, exceptions to the rule, a dying breed, society was progressing, moving on, breaking new ground, but 40+ years of the GOP deliberately playing to the undercurrents of leftover racism, latent white fright, geographic resentment, fear of losing privilege, fear of having to compete on an equal playing field, fear of retribution if âtheyâ get control, etc., all filtered through the Atwaterian School of Dogwhistles, exacerbated by the MSMâs complicity, not only âfoundâ the people who already existed who were primed for such nonsense, but created whole generations of new onesâŚdeliberately, intentionally, knowinglyâŚseething generations of people they hoped would be their guaranteed voting bloc all by playing to the worst and basest ideologies, emotions, instincts inherent in human nature. The Teatrolls are and always have been the GOPâs Frankenstein, the ultimate, end-game product of their decades of âSouthern Strategy.â Obamaâs election was merely the bolt of lightning that jolted the monster to life, raging and bellowing its confusion, frustration and dismay and mindlessly, inconsolably focused on destroying all that possesses even a cursory whiff of blameworthiness for its every existential wound. That the GOP quickly lost control over it was no surprise, nor is it a shocker that it turned on them.
It was the GOP that brought these âwacko birdsâ to the party. Now dance with them ! ! ! ! ! Donât like to dance well tough shit.
Looks more like JoeScar sees the RNCâs Presidential Primary process about to go completely over a cliff, and 2016 slipping away as the GOP crazies, are forcing any reasonable Republican candidates to the sidelines. Heâs right of course, but this is the GOP Fox News has created, and now the tail is wagging the dog!
It appears that the check Joe got from Establishment Republicans SuperPAC just cleared.
Yea quit being whiners and only hate the people Joe hates if you want to be a good American!
Way too little and way too late from Joe. Itâs over dude.
It didnât escape me that Joeâs casting judgement on Carson because Carson was judgmental. But in all fairness to Dr. Carson he did not say his ideas should become law or policy. He just said that was how he felt. Most of the GOP field have said worse.
Itâs too late. Coulter has been pushing it further and further and the GOP loved it. When Limbaugh did the âslutâ thing they loved it. They loved the ârapistâ thing and lined up behind Trump for it. And what GOPâer didnât do the âKenyan Muslimâ bit? Can we still âcall it the White Houseâ Joe? They want more. You reap what you sow Joe.
That guy questioning Trump the other day was not an outlier. Heâs the product of GOP, FOX, Limbaugh and yes Joe in the Morning. A pathetic fool thatâs had his thinking warped so heâll vote against himself. He canât see the good in the ACA or the bad in the Iraq war. A prefect sap. But like any junkie he needs bigger and bigger fixes since Joe and the Boys âturned him onâ to his first one. Now heâs jonesing for it all.
Mary Shelly wrote a book about this shit.
Well Joe, if you have to point to Rafel Cruz as an example of mainstream Republicanism (or conservativeism) you and the GOP are in a world of hurt.
