This is about to be an even bigger hot mess. I do agree with him on Franken though he should have been allowed to go through an investigation before insisting he should leave
When Gillibrand put on her crusader cape all the Dem men got scared. What a crowd.
Impeccable timing Joe, if you could have brought that to light a month ago, perhaps your colleagues would have let the ethics committee investigate prior to forcing a resignationā¦??
Franken was a giant blue voice in the senate.
This is more about witches than crusaders.
Franken should never have resigned.
At this point, Gillibrand should resign because of her lynch mob.
Possibly. But its Politico doing the reporting. And the most intriguing part of their article, pertaining to Leahy, is anonymously sourced.
Manchin doesnāt carry a lot of weight with most Democrats. This could easily spiral off the rails, or peter out into nothing. My own guess is that something very big is going to drop via Mueller this week, and this dust up will fade into the background.
Franken isnāt going to rescind his resignation, however. He is lost to us, probably forever, at least as a politician.
Something seems to be afoot with saving Franken from resigning. Sure, too late and probably wonāt happen, but Iām going to hold out a little hope just for the hell of it.
I 100% agree. Too bad you didnāt show some āsupportā (otherwise known as āballzā) when 35 of your fellow Dems led by the Righteous Women of Congress who have decided to forego the rule of law or any kind of investigation in favor of ātruthā. Itās a sad day.
Well we all can give her our thanks by not voting for her during the presidential primaries
āIām not going to make that determination because he went through an election process,ā Manchin responded before Camerota cut him off to note that an election is different from an investigation.
Camerota asked Manchin again if Trump should be investigated or if the senator has āmoved on.ā
āIāve moved on. I really have moved on,ā Manchin replied.
Asked on CNN whether he thinks it was premature for Franken to announce that he will resign, Manchin replied, āMost certainly.ā
A case of āpremature abdicationā?
Joe Manchin Says It Was Premature For Franken To Announce Resignation
Premature evacuation?
I think the problem with the ethics committee investigation is with who is on that committee.
Who would have been in charge of the investigation? There does need to be a process when these allegations come forward cause it is not right that other folks were allowed to go through an investigation and others are not
Senate Ethics Committee:

Senate Ethics Committee investigations are nothing like a real court room. Justice has nothing to do with it. Franken will never get his day in court, and this is why I was and still am furious with Senate Dem ladies and citizens who donāt get it that he will never get his day in court and they yapped about him resigning to show how āgreatā Dems are eating their own in a world where playing by the rules is only done by one party and in this climate, that is a foolās errand.
IMHO, everyone who said Franken must resign just played into Bannonās hands as he weaponized the #metoo meme and let the snowflakes take down one of their own for his pleasure. (I know, thatās mean, but it is what it is)
Also too: Sure, there needs to be a process, but there isnāt one and perhaps that should have been thought of beforehand.
Have said from the get go. Franken should not resign and should get due processā¦Gillibrand kneejerked looking down the barrel of possible competition in 2020ā¦4 of the acussers were anonymous. .one was a hanratty regular and drumpf voter
Now Gillibrand is SOLā¦ now the drumpf 19ā¦!!!
So, by that gif, are you saying āWeāve already opened that jar of peaches?ā
Happens to most men ā¦ or so I hear (I wouldnāt personally know, though).
Eeeww.
