Discussion for article #238903

Well then, I want to take my guns on an airplane. And to the White House.

Don’t forget Congress!!! They’d be the first to tell you you can’t. But you can take it anywhere else.

As Hollywood execs cringe knowing that movie theater attendance will drop faster than Jindal’s Presidential bid.

Sounds dumb to me. I think that the protective ability of guns is overblown in conservative circles for the most part. If they are worried about it to that degree than they could always work on subsidies to various places to install metal detectors. I have seen it at some theaters. Seems it would be beneficial to stop them at the door than worry about a gun fight in a dark and potentially crowded theater.

Not sure adding guns to this really helps given the context of movies in general. It is loud in there and dark. A good place to cause further panic and to just start firing guns around.

I’m sure that if we only added a half dozen aspirants to the Republican nomination, everyone will become more measured in their policy pronouncements.

I think it was two years ago two men with their wives were at the movies. One was complaining about the couple in front of him texting, an argument developed, the gentleman who started the arguing went outside to get his gun, came back in the theater and the argument continued. The other guy threw popcorn on him and he shot the guy in his chest (the guy’s wife got a bullet through her hand while trying to protect her husband). Needless to say, the guy died.

So, yes, Jindal, let’s all bring our guns to the movies.

I have it on good authority that another great Republican, Abe Lincoln, was a big fan of firearms in theaters.

Some people have noted in the past that, in many underdeveloped countries with a very high birth rate, it was actually women who finally took the initiative in lowering these birth rates.

The same goes for the this issue as well.

I am aware that Republican RWNJ TeaBagg women are the equal in derp of any similar cohort of men…but I also believe that, nationwide, more women are alarmed at the utterances of people like Booby Jingo, here and the minions of NRA robots.

I am also aware that women are great organizers.

The stage is set. There is going to be some balance on this. As was snarkily stated earlier in this thread, guns will be urged on airplanes and in the hands of middle-schoolers.

That’s where this is going

Ammosexual Republicans v. Property Rights Republicans

And the shooter was a retired cop. It will be much safer if average movie patrons are all armed. As soon as someone thinks they see a shooter, just fire and aim. Everything goes better with more guns.

“Perry on Sunday said that people should be able to bring their firearms into movie theaters in order to help prevent mass shootings.”

Exactly! Where better to exchange accurate and targeted gunfire than in a darkened theater?

I believe in well-regulated militias. Not shoot-outs in theaters.

Is Jindal’s vision of America really a land where three hundred million people sport guns on their hips, and nobody uses them? Then why have guns to begin with? Some MAD theory of social organization?

I guess it comes down to a question: Are guns magical protective devices that work everywhere, even in the dark when used by untrained persons in a mortal-fear-driven panic—or are they weapons that punch holes in whatever’s in front of them when fired, whether that’s a bad person, a good person, a nun or toddler, an aquarium, gumball machine, cocker spaniel, whatever. Only when we answer that question can we decide whether or not it’s a good idea to let people carry guns inside a fucking movie theater.

By the way, does anybody miss “Puppies” yet? No? Neither do I.

And into the Louisiana Governor’s mansion, no doubt.

You know, he was asked this question right after the shootings and he said it wasn’t time to talk about policies or laws. So he spent a week “crafting” his reply…and THIS is what he came up with??? How does he even get dressed in the morning?

Idiocy!!!
