Discussion: Jimmy Carter Willing To Travel To North Korea To Help Broker A Deal

If he can broker talks, there will at least be one adult in the room. I don’t see how anything will come of it and Spanky will never work with anyone who might be given some of the credit.

There is probably no one on the planet who is more capable of doing this than Jimmy Carter. Bravo, President Carter!

(If you can get a deal with Kim Jung Un, I smell a Nobel Peace Prize.)

You know the toddler in chief will reject the offer out of jealousy.

FFS Carter, you’ve lived a righteous life. Step away from this one. There is no “deal” there on either side.

  1. It’s a wonderful idea. Carter is (deservedly) trusted by almost everyone.
  2. Trump will never go for it. Too stupid, too selfish, too shortsighted.
  3. Dammit.

For a guy who’s big on faith, he doesn’t even recognize the bad kind when it’s on both sides of him.

Well, Donnie is the baby at every baptism, the bride at every wedding, and the corpse at every funeral, so I put the odds of this happening at negative zero.

But what if his bf Kim demands negotiations with Carter? I could easily see Kim Jung Un making a rather big deal out of this, specifically to humiliate the Dotard on a global stage. The more T rumpp resists, the more pressure is put upon him to say yes. Jung Un wants to negotiate a deal, and T rumpp says no. How’s that gonna play out?

Jimmy Carter has more brain cells in his pinky finger than President Moron has in his entire cerebrum (hint: that would be none). As a result, there is no possibility that Moron-in-Chief will ask Carter to do anything for his administration.

President Moron is more likely to appoint Dennis Rodman. Yeah, that’s the ticket. Let’s have Dennis Rodman negotiate a nuclear arms pact with Lil’ Kim.

I’d guess Kim is not interested. Not long time ago, the former president of USA would have been an honoured guest, but now Kim can get the current president smile with him in photos when he wants to. Besides, Carter doesn’t of course have the legal authority to give significant concessions nor is he dim enough to give them for free.

It’s rather like with Putin, both prefer seeing Trump, and if possible without anybody else present.

But what if Carter gets the president’s Nobel?

Carter always thinks in terms of whats best for his country. Trump only thinks in terms of whats best for Trump.

One Dennis Rodman is enough. As @occamscoin has noted, Jimmy Carter has lived a righteous life. Has paid the price for being principled and crossing AIPAC. No need for this. No need to help Donald Trump obtain some “achievement” so he can claim he is too busy to face indictment and to use in his reelection campaign.

I get where he’s coming from, I understand what he’s saying, and Carter has been a tremendous example of what an EX-president should be.

However,…

Jimmy, what’s the legacy of your deal with Kim Il Sung for “peace and denuclearization of Korea” exactly?

From where I’m sitting, I’m looking at a N. Korea with the bomb and being no closer to a peace deal than when you made your deal
