Horse is already out of the barn.
Right you are, Mr. President.
Kav’s outburst was pretty telling. First that he felt that way and second that he couldn’t control himself in that situation.
Edited for clarity!
Carter: “the current Senate is “quite subservient” to President Donald Trump and “afraid of his displeasure”.
Susan Collins and Jeff Flake are so independent. They fretted and agonized before kissing Trump’s butt.
Why is an honest and reasonable opinion something he needs to “control”?
Am I misreading you that your comment suggests dotage?
Jimmy, I have great respect for you as a man, but this is something that is settled, so shut the fuck up!
Kavanaugh is unfit simply because Trump backed him.
I read it as Dickweed was talking about Kav, not Pres. Carter
Ah. I still don’t get that from rereading the comment but dickweed is a good egg with the greatest avatar so I will trust your reading.
Same here.
Funny, I had to look for definition of dotage and thought, what’s old age got to do with it? Then read clauscph’s comment to realise, oh yeah Carter’s old!
So to clarify, yes that comment was totally toward Kav. And the biggest thing about Kav’s outburst to me was what he said and how he said it. The defensiveness of both, to me, seemed to indicate that he liked getting drunk, probably still does, did and still does do dumb shit when he’s drunk, and doesn’t like to be questioned about it. i.e. he seemed like a defensive functioning alcoholic.
We already know that but okay.
Exactly.
We’ve had functioning drug addicts on the court before, so what the heck.
I thought he was temperamentally unfit to serve on the Supreme Court because of his outburst during the hearing,”
Hillary told us moron was temperamentally unfit and we ignored it because he was amusing and good for CBS’s bottom line.
On Kav’s lack of sobriety, there was a thread the other day that took this up, and we mostly agreed he’s a functioning alcoholic. He said at one point “I like beer” which I took to mean “and I still drink tons of it.”
He was invited to speak to a select group at Emory and his thoughts and opinions matter to them. So, no shutting the fuck up.
Jimmy, I wish you’d have said your piece before Kavanaugh was confirmed.
Lots of lawyers spoke up before and during the hearings expressing their outrage at this nomination, signed full page ads in newspapers ran them, but it’s clear Rs weren’t inclined to listen to anyone. They had their plan and they stuck with it. 650 law professors signed this and sent it to senators…
And let’s not forget CNN and even MSNBC, because Andy Lack is just as bad as anyone out there and I suspect that his day time line up was as Trump fawning as his night time line up was Trump critical.
