Just responded to a local Dem chair request for my information so I can help sign a petition to do a recount in Pennsylvania. Not overly hopeful but I don’t mind sending a little old message that we don’t much like the result, or the tampering we know about, and if a recount made a difference we’d dance in the streets.
Forget dancing in the streets. If the outcome of the election somehow were changed, I’m gonna do a whole lot more than simply dance in the streets…I may be arrested for indecent exposure.
LOL. I think that’d be what they call one of those good problems. : )
Trump supporters are suffering a serious case of the DTs over the prospect of a recount changing the outcome of the election.
Seems an unlikely outcome, but then so is the fact that the person who won the popular vote by 2 million (and growing) votes – and earned more total votes than any other presidential candidate in U.S. history – did not win the election.
And the thing is, they’d never know how lucky they were. But again, that’s a price I’d gladly pay.
If this comes to pass, will they be recounting all the races or just the POTUS one?
I’m expecting claims that Clinton is actually the one bankrolling this to start surfacing any time. K.T. McFarland’s “Look at me! Look at Me!” claim that Clinton helicopters spied on her is just a preamble. Conspiracy theorists have had a few weeks off, and I’m sure their teeth are itching.
My understanding is it will be only presidential votes that are recounted.
Hey, and if not, it is a good ole fashioned fishing expedition, and we can find all sorts of crap and good stuff. Maybe Comey will issue a press release at some really inconvenient time to Grifter Donald Trump and his chicken brain children’s business opportunities coming to fruition, that he is reviewing some vague stuff and will let us know when he knows more etc.
The more we know, the more we can rain on their “unity” pretensions after the past 8 years of underhanded fuckery.
If the to election results were to change at this late date we would have open rebellion in the streets. It would be great to know exactly how much “rigging and fraud” there actually was but it will be really tough to close the gate after the horse got out.
Im thinking just those three states
If im Kellyanne Conway or Steve Bannon, i would do the following: id pay for all three states that are being asked to audit their presidential votes.
Here’s why: everyone knows what will happen should he lose.
However if he were to win and win by expanding margins…
Im hoping for a Clinton win,but do i see one occurring…well it’s '16,
Agree with you completely on the need to send a message. I was a solid Bernie supporter until HRC got the nomination, then encouraged everyone within earshot to vote for HRC. I am still turned off by Stein. Her over the top, and often repeated, equation of HRC and Trump was beyond nonsense. Her tiresome vacillation on vaccinations, only aimed at vote getting, were disgusting for someone who sets themselves up to be a truth teller. But here, she has at least attempted to regain some of that non compromising rhetorical high ground. I give her a lot of credit for this move. Did HRC finance it? Who knows. It’s absolutely worth doing.
I have no confidence in the Jill Stein or the Green Party to provide anything more than a place of refuge for the ideologically wounded of the farthest left portion of the Democratic Party spectrum. If Democrats want to win again, they must do so not counting on the blinded Greens, who would rather suffer oligarchs than risk even the slightest compromise of a rigid position. IMHO, Democrats must come up with a position that clearly advocates of the interests of the middle and lower classes, sells that position, and then forces the nation’s wealthiest to suggest compromise or face total defeat.
I suppose that’s possible but IMHO there’s a few things that would militate against it. Is the population that would rise up concentrated in lots of places? Seems more dispersed to me—rural counties, that sort of thing. Are they desperate? Nope—comfortable economically for the most part. Are they young? No. Full of vim and vigor? Again no. Organized? No. Do they have any real grievances at all? Not really. I think there’d be random incidents, maybe a demonstration here and there. Sort of like a few Portland situations. But overall—lots of upset folks but they can bite me. Son of a bitch stole the election the first time. He’s not stealing it back twice. At any rate, let’s consider this a bridge we can cross when we come to it.
has Gov DeadEyes filed suit to stop the re-count yet?
So listening to NPR and they were poo pooing the fraud/tampering claims, but one thing did prick up my ears up. Their analyst stated that 10,000 votes in each key states like WI, MI, and PA threw the race to Trump. Which got me thinking about photo ID/ voter suppression tactics, here in MO, which just past a photo ID amendment, it was stated that it would effect 250,000 registered voters here. And even if one figures that half of those folks were successful in getting a photo ID then that still leave 135,000 out in the cold which in some states could determine that outcome of an election.
I guess when we all start volunteering and sending in donations let’s not forget those organizations that help voters get the required ID.

The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun, is a good guy with a gun, righteously pissed off that someone took that parking spot he had his eye on at the Seacaucus Outlet Mall, where American people drag boxes of Corning Ware kitchen China by a rope in each hand because they bought too much to carry in in their arms.

I think Clinton has the second or third highest total vote count in U.S. history. Obama earned 69,498,516 votes in 2008; so far, Clinton has only 64,223,958, and counting.
It does seem possible that Clinton may surpass Obama’s 2012 count of 65,915,795 when all is said and done.
