Discussion for article #225159
Abramson shouldn’t be ashamed: If you’re fired in the real world, you are the scum of the earth and you must have done something wrong; if you’re fired in media, you’re just one of the gang!
The latest news is how Benghazi was handled was a military decision. Hillary and Obama where not even in the chain of command during the event.
By right that should be the end of the “scandal.” Let’s see how the “hard-charging editor” reports that information .
Ob-Fox-Logical-Fallacy: Lady, if you’re “devoted your whole career to truth-telling,” what the frack on you doing on Fox Propaganda Network?
Josh Marshall: For journalists and editors in the New York City area, I wanted to let you know TPM is expanding and we have two new editor slots we’re hiring for to work from our New York City office.
Has anyone told Jill?
How can she report if if she was fired?
The question is, will ANYONE report it when it is much cooler to continue to pile on the Obama Administration. Politico? Are you listening? Oh. I guess you’re still patting yourselves on the back for having the three most disgusting people on Earth for lunch. Even Hannibal Lector would have been in 4th place with that Cheney crew.
lulz
Apparently Jill still gets her information from the Times. Maybe no longer as directly, but still.
I am sure the women could find other venues if she wanted to report the real facts about Benghazi. She seems a bit obsessed with the subject, but she is not interested in reporting any news that vindicates Hillary or Obama
Based on this interview she should have been fired. She reveals herself to be totally self absorbed and utterly lacking the introspection we would expect of any competent leader.
There is nothing more to see.
Jill Abramson, fired editor and martyr…
I’ll tell you who should be fired…Greta’s hair stylist…THEY should be fired. Brassy blonde…REALLY???
When women in any field, journalism, science, tech, and especially politics complain that they are not competing on a level playing field, it is because there are still people who would rather complain about a woman’s hair color instead of what competence and smarts they have in their field. Who gives a shit what color Van Susteren’s hair is. Other than you, of course.
It was said with a big dose of snark…sorry you didn’t get that. FYI, I have railed against the ridiculous looks of men with equal time (Ronan Farrow being one…the puffy lips …wrong). If you are going to be on TV, you should have stylists that have your back. I understand why you didnt like the comment, but really, lighten up. Do you think it looks good?
Snark is sometimes the most difficult attitude to convey in writing, but what I find in too many of the postings here is a lot is piling on of women. I’ve read “she’s a bitch”, “she’s a hag” “fat and dumpy” “thick ankles”, and on and on, and that woman’s personal appearance has nothing to do with the story. There’s too much off-handed criticism of women for no reason except that commentators can do it. What Greta chooses to do with her hair or not to do doesn’t interest me. Knowing that she was one of Palin’s mentors early on makes me even less interested in what she has to say.
I think there are moments of “clarity” that come from Greta, but for the most part I pity her more for selling out her opinion and spouting off Fox nonsense that she must know isnt true rather than her choice of stylist.
