And that is the most serious problem facing America. Trump views the Presidency as his permanently. That could mean some really ugly happenings as soon as he realizes he isn’t going to win in 2020.

I think that Sessions leaving and a toady getting appointed doesn’t play out quite the way you think, because of the time factor. The GOP has no particular interest in confirming a replacement, so that won’t happen overnight. And leaks happen much faster than that. Also, if Sessions goes, Rosenstein has the entire portfolio, and I don’t think trump will go for that. At which point saturday night massacre, and even this congress is unlikely to overlook such a debacle. (Not because they’re honest, but because they see the opportunity to seize a lot of power from the executive.)
This Congress would not impeach Trump if he beheaded an infant live on national television.
