Discussion: Jeffrey Lord: Ditch 'Ryan Plan' And Let Obamacare 'Crash'

Why does CNN feel the need to hire an in-house Trump surrogate? This asshole is the most annoying person on the teevee machine.

Sorry, guys. No one is going to blame Obama or the ACA when healthcare implodes due to NO ACTION on the part of the ruling party. They will then be blamed for not fixing the ACA since they couldn’t come up with anything else. Idiots. Trump is too fucking lazy to do any actual work. He’d be a hero if he came up with a single payer plan, damn the GOP.

And now we have the latest GOP talking point; we don’t have to kill ā€œObamacare,ā€ it will collapse on its own. As the headline on another post here tells us:

Yup, 12 million new sign-ups. ā€œIt’s crashing, it’s crashing, oh, the humanity!ā€ Lord is a prime useful idiot for the Trump criminal conspiracy and the amoral GOP. YA reason I never watch CNN, they are desperately trying to be FOX News Lite.

Yep…this is as ā€˜smart’ as shutting down the government. Something else you supported Jeff? You really are a twit…

To the extent that Obamacare is ā€œfailingā€ is wholly dependent on Republican’t stonewalling and outright sabotage, whether it’s Little Marco’s poison pill amendment to wipe out Risk Corridor payments to insurance companies, GOP governors abdicating state responsibility to set up exchanges or expand Medicaid, or the Supreme Court legislating from the bench to make resisting said expansions a penalty-free option. So yes, Obamacare is failing in Red States, as is to be expected. Hopefully that will convince the people affected the most by the failure in those states to either stop voting for GOPosaurs or to start voting in the first place. Meanwhile, the people in the states that did the right thing by their constituents can continue reaping the benefits.

Is that ā€œTapsā€ that I hear wafting across Capitol Hill? I could swear it is…

Must be for Trumpcare, 'cause Obamacare is alive and well and stabilizing more every day.

That’s saying a lot, given the stiff competition for Biggest Twit on TeeVee…

CNN better make sure Jeffrey Lord isn’t in cahoots with Putin.

First of all, Obamacare has problems, but most analysis I have read do not indicate it is collapsing.

But even if it was, ā€œFakeā€ access, which is what TrumpRyancare is offering, and Obamacare imploding is a difference without a distinction.

Also, if it really does fail, it may usher in Single Payer.

The first step could be to expand Medicare to those over 55.

I can envision that between S-chip, expanded Medicaid, and expanded Medicare, and allowing 26 year olds to stay on their parents plan, that it will effectively cover those between 1-26 and over 55, and most poor people.

That would leave those between 26 and 55 to get insurance either through their employer or purchase an individual plan.

Here’s a naĆÆve question: why doesn’t Congress hold hearings on how to fix whatever problems with the ACA there might be? Consult doctors, insurers, employers, average people? Instead of talking up what a ā€œdisasterā€ it is and how it’s in a ā€œdeath spiralā€? Instead of proposing something unacceptable to everyone and shoving it down our throats? Again, a naĆÆve question from a non-expert.

I try not to go there but I don’t always succeed.

"I’m beginning to think, with all of these problems here with the Ryan plan, et cetera, the best thing is to just step back and let it crash.ā€

Note that fixing the ACA, which would lead to a healthier public and keep people from, you know, dying, isn’t on any of the Republicans’ radar.

I try not to, but then read a British broadsheet paper. Our British cousins throw around such words like confetti. Even invent words I’ve never hear of, like MUNT.

Seems to be the MO of CNN, n’est ce pas? Have a crazy come on to say a few crazy things and the chatter will be guaranteed for at least part of the 7/24 news cycle. Disregard.

They really, really, really want this White House to like them.

Pretty much what Bannon wants. Bring it all crashing down. No replacement, just more distractions from the klepto-fascists looting behind the scenes.

When Trump signed that executive order that allows the IRS to process tax returns without proof of being insured, that takes away one leg of the three legged stool. If the individual mandate is not enforced, we all know what will happen in time. This is another reason why I’ve always thought their health care bill was just a stunt
The DNC needs to run ads to counter their trashing of the ACA nationwide. If more people join, and it remains popular, the GOP will have to go to plan B. Then we win.

Why does CNN still employ the Sith Lord? Is it just for trolling us?
