With Sessions out, I think Enzi will be running “unopposed.”
Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL) unexpectedly announced on Wednesday that he will bow out of the race for Budget Committee chairmanship and defer to Sen. Mike Enzi (R-WY), who will run opposed for the coveted spot.

Nah, if Beauregard had a hankering for this, he’d keep it.
What he wants is to chair the Senate Judiciary Committee so he can troll the pee out of every Obama judicial nominee between now and the real lame duck session between the November 2016 election and the January 2017 swearzees. Beauregard got himself turned down for a federal district court position years back and he’s carrying a massive chip on his shoulder ever since.
What he really wants is to be recognized for the legal genius and inspired wordsmith he imagines himself to be and finagle a spot on the SCOTUS. And he’s prepared to hold his breath til he turns a bluish hue of pink to get it.

Sessions was favored to be budget chief by the tea party base, in large part due to his fight against immigration reform.
OK, this make perfect sense to me. The tea party supports someone at budget for a stance on an issue completely unrelated to budget. Let the good times roll!
