Discussion: Jeff Flake Will Support Brett Kavanaugh

Of course he will. The guy who wants to distinguish himself from the predator-in-chief by voting for another predator.

I might consider a shot of bourbon should there be 3 repubs who vote ā€œnoā€. But I am not expecting that to happen. Kav will be voted out of committee shortly I expect. Come Sunday or Monday there will be the vote that hopefully will right things.

Quantum entanglement. Now that’s pyschedelia right there.

Jeff probably has a few skeletons in his closet.

This is ALL about Flake preserving his viability as a presidential candidate in 2020 or beyond.

He knows he’d have NO chance as a Republican if he voted against this confirmation.

Flake can still change his mind…

Create light, not heat.

ā€¦ā€œabsent corroborating evidence,ā€

No corroborating evidence was allowed so therefore the idea that ā€œour system of justice affords a presumption of innocenceā€ has been obstructed by the very body that is tasked with advise and consent.

I was thinking he doesn’t want the entire burden of his no vote for moving out of committee on his shoulders so he passes the buck to the full Senate vote. Cowardly to be sure, and I don’t buy his hints that he may still vote no there, but he could if he wanted to and might have some cover depending on what’s happening behind the scenes.

Not holding my breath on that, but it is what it is. Reality Show TV which is our life now.

I’m also waiting for some charges out of Maryland to drop just about anytime now and more so if this process keeps moving to the full Senate vote. But…only time will tell for sure.

I’m shocked, shocked to find that this pathetic fraud of a man is voting for Kavanaugh. His schtick grew old long ago: he furrows his brow, wrings his hands, laments the awful state of contemporary politics in general and our Dear Leader in particular and then votes Der Drumpfenfuehrer line. Hell, Lisa Lupner’s father had more of a pine.

Why? The defendant will be sitting on the highest court – a slam-dunk reversal for anything a lower court does to hold him accountable.

I hope she can go back to having a decent life with her family and get some psychic relief from knowing how many more people in this country believed her – it’s just that we didn’t have a vote on his confirmation.

Flake is a coward.

Hope you still think you’re running in 2020 so your ass gets handed to you.

I thought about that, but … I didn’t want to convert eV to kg. It’s also unclear (to me at least) that neutrinos have a rest mass.

Eh, Reid sold the nation out for it many times.

Apparently they can ā€˜oscillate’ between at least three different kinds, which means they have some mass, which is not created with the Higgs Boson. They are trying to measure it in Karlsruhe, Germany.

Not at all. It’s been grim lately, even though there are reasons for optimism. Putting a damn rapist on the Supreme Court? As a bookend to the sexual harasser? That’s just in-your-face authoritarian corruption. It’s shocking to see.

But.

Tonight I’ll be at a three-hour fundraiser dinner for the local Dems, doing photography for them. I’ve done two other events so far and it’s amazing—you don’t hear doom and gloom, or much talk of the dotard at all. They’re focused on getting those votes out period. It really helps. The psychological theory that thoughts, feelings, and actions influence each other and to change one you change another really seems valid in my experience.

Jeff Flake always shows a forehead wrinkled with concern and a downcast look of shame while he slowly slides a shiv into the ribs of America.

He’s already a dirty traitor to the Trumpified base, so he misplayed that. And he’s repeatedly pulled a Lucy-football move with everyone else. The only thing he has to offer is the solemn, concerned look of the funeral-parlor staffer who serves as an usher and then helps get the cars arranged out on the parking lot for the trip to the graveyard. That dude doesn’t care about your uncle. And Flake doesn’t care about the nation’s soul all that much. Flake knows the GOP has a problem. But Flake is out for Flake.
