Discussion: Jeff Flake Drafting Bill To Kneecap Trump On Trade Policy

“We will continue to urge the administration to narrow this policy so that it is focused only on those countries and practices that violate trade law cause we are scared shitless of the guy," Ryan said

The thing that jumped out at me is the “case-by-case” exceptions. Who in the Administration gets to decide which countries get them? What is the process? Maybe “lend my company a bunch of money and we’ll exempt you from tariffs?”

More bravery from the man with the spine of glazing putty.

Flake’s going to take on Whiny?

Oh please…He probably sleeps with a night light.

Case by case exemptions from a national security emergency. I’m sure there will be oodles of analysis and documentation backing up each decision.

Congress can pass a law, anytime it can get the votes together, to take the trade-regulation authority back (that it delegated to the President years ago).

–> Just needs the spine to do so.

OK, I get it, so we can consider it not done.

This will go nowhere. He has to get the senate to go along, then the house and then Trump has to sign it. This ain’t going anywhere fast.

What are the odds Flake can figure that out?

Jeffy,

Don’t kneecap the m$$$$$f$$$er on trade policy, kneecap the m$$$$$f$$$er for reals.

One of these things is much like others,
One of these things just fits all too well
Can you tell which one is just like the others,
Before I finish my song?
