This is a moral issue. People are living here, participating in our economy and sending their children to our schools. They deserve the right to participate in our democracy. Anything less is against core democratic values.
Here is my immigration policy, which solves most issues and puts us on a path to prosperity: open up our borders. Give work permits to all who pledge to stay at least a year. After 2 years, grant citizenship automatically. This will grow our economy, give workers badly needed rights, and end this racist 20th century concept that America is not open to immigrants. It will put America on top, and the rest of the world will follow, as America end up with the highest skilled and most diverse labor market in the world.
