Discussion: Jeb Wants 'Greater Enforcement' To Prevent Birthright Citizenship 'Abuse'

Discussion for article #239586

So that whole “Autopsy” thing after Mitt’s disastrous campaign, especially the outreach to Latinos part … they print that on toilet paper or something?

I don’t know if Jeb! really thinks this or is afraid he will be left in the dust if he doesn’t step out of the line of whatever Trump says.

In fact, this whole campaign of his seems to be about following - following his brother, following Trump, following whatever the outrage of the day is…
it’s like he’s afraid to be himself or something. Has he taken a stand on anything yet???

Also I don’t think the Republican Party likes the Constitution the way they seem to pretend to.

Keep on talking and you’ll keep on losing.

Idiot.

Enforcement of what? Does he think there are laws against pregnant women entering the United States?

What a fucking simpleton.

I don’t know what Jeb seeks to accomplish by being the weak, mealy-mouthed version of crazy.

¨"There are like 10 things I would change in the Constitution with a magic wand."

He later backtracked and clarified that he meant to highlight that changing the Constitution is a long and difficult process.¨

It’s gonna be a long campaign, ¡Jeb!

I suppose by definition he’s seeking the leadership of the world’s most powerful society, but somehow that really doesn’t seem to describe the situation, does it?

John Bush makes comments that make him seem dumb, uninformed, incurious, visceral and uninspiring nearly every day.

JebBush should start his activism at home. What kind of idiot deplores his own family?
His wife and kids are basically saying WTF except in Spanish.

JebBush went from speaking a little of the lingo to pretend like he is sort of one of the Latinoish community to veiled threats about kicking them out. Except of course his wife that rolls his burritos and kids that look good in Mexican advertising.

JebBush, partially authentico, not as rude or stupid as Trump. Just like his also dumb brother really. Go JebBush!

“Also I don’t think the Republican Party likes the Constitution the way they seem to pretend to.”

Only when (in their words) Obama is trampling on it.

And those are the good days. On a bad day, Jeb! isn’t mentioned in the news at all.

So, I am wondering how this “enforcement” will take place.

Institute a policy and ban anyone that is pregnant from entering the US ?
Or better still, consign the army and national guard, have them go from hospital to hospital, looking for anyone that looks brown and is pregnant. Then round them up and deport them before they give birth.

Wait, isn’t that what the Nazis were doing to Jewish people in Germany ?

Talk of a plan that is devoid of common sense and practicality.

As we can see, he is not the decider, like his brother.

Yeah boy…detail an FBI agent to every live birth in America… That’ll show them browns.

" Better enforcement so that you don’t have these, you know, ‘anchor babies,’ as they’re described, coming into the country."
–Jeb Bush

“Yeah, to me it’s about enforcing the laws in this country. And I’ve been very clear, I think you enforce the laws, and I think it’s important to send a message that we’re going to enforce the laws, no matter how people come here we’re going to enforce the laws.”
–Scott Walker, on ending birthright citizenship for children of undocumented immigrants

Both Jeb Bush and Scott Walker are so “Party of Stupid” on this. What sort of faux-authoritarian bowl of mush are they eating now?

Talk about threading the needle! I don’t think it’s enough to satisfy the competing demands and interests of the GOP. Maybe he should just go bold and pick a position and defend it. This isn;t helping his cause.

Conservatives have never liked the Constitution.
They are the ones who pushed to make Washington a King.
They are the ones that pushed for Articles of Confederation over the Constitution (a spectacular failure by the way, which is the natural result any time you allow conservatives to make policy).

So, just a regular conservative then?

I find it ironic that the nation that is really using birthright is not getting a single headline, China. Chinese women have houses in California where they stay to allow them to birth their children here then take them home. There are reports out of the state that it is in the hundreds if not thousands a year that are doing this, yet the GOP goes after the current scapegoat Hispanic mothers.
