Discussion: Jeb To Rubio: 'Just Resign And Let Someone Else Take The Job' (VIDEO)

Discussion for article #242278

Interesting. At one point, JEB could have run for Senator himself. He probably thought that was a bullsh*t role and that running for POTUS would be a walk in the park…

It’s his birthright, after all.

And this is why, if you announce as a Presidential candidate and are currently an elected official, you should resign the elected office.

What Rubio is doing is wrong. I dont’t care if all the other kids are doing it. If he were my Senator, i would be pretty pissed off.

Both are toast.
Jeb? now, Rubio soon enough.

I’m hoping Rubio gets the nomination just to see him pureed in a real debate.

This is also a byproduct of our ever-lengthening Presidential campaigns. The Presidential campaign now begins the day after the midterm elections. Bit different from 1960. JFK didn’t announce until January of 1960. Johnson announced in May, just before the convention (and nearly pulled off an upset).

The pundits are calling it for Rubio and Jeb Bush is the big loser

Senator Obama and Senator Kerry didn’t miss the number of votes that Rubio before declaring their candidacy that Rubio has… OR at this point in their campaigns (late October 2007 or 2003 respectively).

Will any in the media even call him out on this lie (setting aside the “Democrats did it” blame-shifting)…?

Unfortunately NO

And he had a very tall hill to climb considering his competition.

All I’ve seen so far is shitty moderation that let’s candidates determine their own air time and candidates being asked questions like the one on gun control after the massacre in Oregon in a “gun free zone”

No one bothered to point out that it was NOT a gun free zone. And that it happened in a deeply red voting community.

And what is with Scarly and her Calista Gingrich helmet hair???

Most honest statement of the evening from Rube.

I have a debt to America that I’ll never re-pay.

Well, this little interaction should remove any doubts about who planted that story this morning.

But I think Rubio handled it pretty well. He was prepped for it, and zipped out the numbers quickly. In fact, overall, I think Rubio was probably the winner tonight. If you consider the Establishment voter/donor that is on the fence between Rubio and Bush…they have to feel a lot better about Rubio, and whole lot worse about Bush.

Hey Jeb. You mean Rubio is doing what your brother did with the Alabama National Guard?

Well, see…that’s the clincher. But that won’t be brought up in this sort of forum. And its doubtful that anybody in the right wing bubble will ever bring it up now.

The other big problem, is Rubio danced around his personal fiance problems…dismissing things that are a matter of public record as just propaganda. That may work through the GOP primaries, but he will get creamed on it in a general. And the longer he tries to dodge, the bigger the hit is going to be.
