okâŚIt is good to know that Jeb! will never be PresidentâŚIt should scare enough Democrats to the polls just listening to these republicansâŚthis is a continuation of the Bush WarsâŚyep, his brotherâs warsâŚok, they are really the Cheney/Halliburton WarsâŚbut Jeb! needs to step away from the microphone and politics and tend to his familyâŚhe is worthless as a person, politician, and messengerâŚ
I think I saw this on Jeopardy onceâŚ
A : âThis is the war of our time.â
Q : âWhat is a worn out cliche?â
Iâm not sure if a Bush declaring we need âa strategyâ is breathtakingly ironic or tragically comical.
breathtakingly ironic
Yes
or tragically comical.
Tragic, yes. Nothing funny about it.
October 8, 2002 âBush Sees âUrgent Dutyâ to Pre-empt Attack by Iraqâ
President Bush declared tonight that Saddam Hussein could attack the United States or its allies âon any given dayâ with chemical or biological weapons. In a forceful argument for disarming Iraq or going to war with that country, he argued that âwe have an urgent duty to prevent the worst from occurring.â
eta:
âI hope that this will not require military action, but it may,â he said, warning America that Mr. Hussein could attempt âcruel and desperate measuresâ in response. He warned Iraqâs generals to ignore any orders to use weapons of mass destruction or be treated as war criminals.
I wasnât suggesting so. Comical also means absurd/ludicrous.
Own up to it, JEB. If this is war, your brother was Gavrilo Princip
âwar is peace⌠freedom is slaveryâ

Iâm afraid youâd have to include just about every other Republican candidate regarding the idea of going to war, with the exception of perhaps Rand Paul. Jeb! has the most obvious NeoCon connections as his advisors, but really, they all say the same reactionary bullshit when pressed.
Knee-jerk reactions come naturally to the GOP. Plus, its a good fear-mongering tactic to alarm and rally the lizard-brains in their base. The âbe very afraidâ tactic unfortunately has been used repeatedly so many times with the help of the media, its a wonder no one bothers to shut down this tired old tactic before it gets an irrational foothold, in the same way the ramp-up for war in Iraq was based on overblown fear-mongering and knee-jerk reactions.
Of course, what JEB refused to say (and was not asked) is that this âwar of our timeâ will require a DRAFT. Bush the Lesser got away with send the âweekend warriorsâ, the National Guard, in to Iraq to supplement the fulltime, official military. That always struck me as being a one time deal and Iâm not sure it can be pulled off again.
Its always other peopleâs children these assholes offer up to wage war withâŚNo one ever asks these politicians and bloviators to send their own children to war, nor would theyâŚand they always have an excuse for why thatâs not some kind of relevant consideration they need bother themselves with.
An appropriate question to ask all the Repubs candidates: Are you willing to enact a universal Draft? No exceptions - there are non-combat jobs for those physically unable.
Can always count on the GOP to try to lead the US to war. Never met a war they didnât like.
Looks like JEBâs campaign has found yet another slogan. âWar Of Our Timeâ. He trotted it out Friday while the shootings were still occurring and has been blaring it out in every interview since.
I wonder if his plans to put soldiers in Syria changes when, as the evidence is already starting to indicate, it turns out that most of the Paris attackers were actually French, and not Syrian. Clearly France is a hotbed of terrorism, as is Belgium. So we will have to re-invade Europe again?
Also never found a way to pay for one in a way that didnât bankrupt the country. Ah, but no worries. Just cut taxes on the rich and everything as usual will be fine and dandy.
The US is perpetually at war. What makes this âtimeâ any different?
What is it with the scions of the Bush family trying to mask their incompetence at governance with declarations of war?
Yeah, we are going to go in, win, and then pull out. Right. Nice of Jeb to make abundantly clear that he has learned nothing from his brotherâs wars.
âAnd we need to have a strategy, it needs to be clearly defined, it needs to be a strategy where we fight to win and then we pull out. This is how America is at its best is to lead forces from around the world to do this.â
So is he saying that this is what DUHBuya did, or is he saying this is what DUHbuya should have done? History, of course only gives us one option, But Jeb! keeps spewing fantasy after fantasy.
