Discussion: Jeb Calls Out Trump:

Discussion for article #240606

But it appears Bush was telling the truth.

LOL.

So what? It appears Trump holds grudges and it’s payback time.

Ok, so the GOP debates are taking a different form:

To paraphrase Winston Churchill, Trump occasionally stumbles over the truth, but he picks himself up, dusts himself off and hurries on as though nothing had happened.

Jeb tells Big Door that he fucked him on his casino license

You miss the point. Trump is incapable of admitting he was wrong or admitting to anything that he thinks doesn’t make him look good. His attempt to get a license for a casino in Florida are a matter of public record, and to attempt at this point to deny it strongly suggests some kind of disturbing personality disorder.

I agree.

And to his mindless supporters, it really doesn’t matter.

As Harry Truman famously said about Nixon:

Richard Nixon is a no good, lying bastard. He can lie out of both sides of his mouth at the same time, and if he ever caught himself telling the truth, he’d lie just to keep his hand in.

In Drumpf, we have another Nixon.

The GOP constantly deny things that are provably true. Trump is just trying to fit in.

Except to the uniformed.

Trump won that one.

Next…

But it appears Bush was telling the truth.

As astonishing as that sentence is, what’s even more amazing is how little it matters. The Donald is up there in full “pfff, those grapes were probably sour anyway” mode and he’s still coming off as more credible, somehow.

Yeah, he’s already very nearly history’s greatest monster, but it’s mesmerizing to watch.

I think you mean uniNformed rather than uniformed. (Autocorrect?)

Trump stomped Bush flat when he remarked that his brother was so bad that Abe Lincoln couldn’t have gotten elected in 2008 as a Republican.

I don’t think there is any doubt that The Donald has some sort of personality disorder. The question is which (probably narcissism) and to what degree?

This kind of behavior is exactly why I think The Donald will exit the race when it becomes apparent he cannot win the presidency. “If I’d really gone after casino licenses in Florida, I would have them,” seems to be what he’s saying. That is (obviously) pure bullsh!t. He went after them, and he (and his peeps) were shut down. It happens that way sometimes in politics. If you don’t have your whip count right and if the opposition does a better job of lobbying than you do, you lose.

But The Donald is the ultimate winner – he can’t lose anything he really goes after. I don’t see any way to plausibly claim that the didn’t really want to be President, that it was all a big goof. Deciding to run for the Presidency is similar to (but seems to me much worse than) going after a research doctorate. There are so many barriers that get tossed in, it is so easy to decide that you have better things to do than put up with this bullsh!t, you have to really want it to go after it.

Actually I think you are missing the point. Trump said that he makes donations to buy politicians. Jeb admitted taking the money but his only defense was that he didn’t actually deliver what Trump had asked for.

This is like a girl saying she isn’t a prostitute she just takes the money men give her for sex and does a runner instead of holding up her part of the bargain.

Everyone knows that the only reason the Republican party is against making hedge fund managers pay tax is the money from the hedge fund managers. Everyone knows that its Sheldon Adelson’s money that has made Israel a priority for the GOP. Everyone knows that none of them would be voting for Keystone XL without the money from the Koch brothers.

What Trump is saying here is that every one of his competitors is disqualified because they are bought and owned by the people who give them money. And he is 100% right.

These doodleheads are the very best that the GOP can offer. All of them entered the race because they realized that none of the existing candidates were viable. What they were unable to see was that they weren’t any more viable. So now they are all running a long way behind a clown who can admit bribing politicians on national TV without damage because they were the type of politicians that took money from people like him.

John Bush the Acronym took the money or did he not?

That.

Wellll…not exactly. Bush was against gambling in Florida long before Trump started to try and build casinos on Seminole land. The donations, were, without a doubt, an attempt at getting him to soften his stance. But it was something Bush made clear through the legislature even before he took office that he was against.

So its more like a prostitute saying she isn’t going to have sex with you, but you give her money anyway, and she still doesn’t have sex with you.

He did, or rather, the Florida GOP took the money on his behalf. I think Trump donated a nominal amount to Bush’s actual campaign. (something like $500, hardly worthy of mentioning to either of them).
