Discussion for article #244165
Well, it is accurate, its just that its a day late and a dollar short…which is typical when it comes to Jeb! He could have gone after his voting record eons ago if Rubio’s been missing that many votes…but he didn’t. And to run this ad for almost 2 weeks is ridiculous. Anyone I know that keeps seeing the same ad over and over again just switches the channel, as do most people.
Not to worry. Rubio plans to get all his work done during his second Presidential term when he won’t be running for office again.
Go get 'em Jeb!
(Shouldn’t he be punching Trump?)
I know we are 315 days until election day and the tides will surely turn, but I feel like both Rube-io and Jeb! should just donate their campaign war chests to some food-relief program somewhere and move on.
They are still included in everyone’s short-list, but only because the list needs filler. In the past couple of days, NPR has had major stories on each of them and their upbringing, development as candidates, etc. (It’s hard to waste a good article that has been in development a while!) But only Rube-io has a chance at the nomination, and he would have to beat out The Donald and Tailgunner Ted to get there.
Oh, and pass the popcorn. It is going to get interesting soon!
Rubio: How can we trust brother of the worst president of USofA? How can anyone justify Iraq invasion based on what we know now or knew at that time. Bush clan is corrupt.
The Establishment seems hell bent on fighting tooth and nail for a distant 3rd place in NH.
Even if the campaign coalesces into a two lane race…the Trump/Cruz lane will beat the Establishment lane. And with both Rubio and Bush having the financial strength to go the distance, its looking more and more likely that that won’t even happen.
The fight for the Establishment candidate is going to turn into what my peewee football coach called our final game when the two last place teams played. “You’ve heard of the Super Bowl? Well, we are playing in the Toilet Bowl”
Right to rise is cosponsored by Cialis no doubt.
Rubio may be the only hope the “establishment” has, but he’s not exactly burning up the campaign trail.
This will do zero for jebbers. But, trump says thank you jeb!
To answer the rhetorical question, yes, Rubio’s been overrated all along. He thought his youth would be attractive especially in contrast to Clinton who’ll be 69 next year. But what he thinks is youthful comes off as inexperienced and callow and reminds people that they have grandchildren older than he is.

A new ad from Right to Rise, the Super PAC supporting the elimination of ED…
and flaccid campaigns…

I think it’s too early too count Rubio out. A Washington Post writer sums up Rubio this way:
But it’s worth drilling down on one key reason why Rubio is so effective and dangerous — to his GOP opponents, and potentially in a general election as well. It’s this: Rubio knows how to feed the angry preoccupations of many GOP base voters while simultaneously coming across as hopeful and optimistic.
I tend to agree with him.
At bottom I think there will be some nose holding and going for Rubio in spite of perceived and real flaws and there are many . He’s the least worst of a batch of really bad contestants, and betting websites have him with a 34% chance of winning the nomination, which puts him in the lead over all the others who make far more noise.
Looks like JEB PAC is trying to push him to 3rd in IA too.
oh goody… El Jebe shows his toughness by lobbing marshmallows… everyone else makes S’Mores…
As others have pointed out, Rubio as a GOP candidate looks great on paper. He’s everything the GOP establishment “thinks” the Party should be evolving into in the 21st century. Of course. in reality, he’s a vapid fool, a simpleton who believes he’s light years ahead of everyone else while they laugh in his face. He’s been told a million times he’s the “golden child” who’s now become a man child. To everyone else, it’s quite obvious.
This will do zero for jebbers. But, trump says thank you jeb!
And Cruz too.
Wish I could start a PAC called “Right to Crush,” with the explicit goal of telling voters “THIS is what we really mean!”
It shouldn’t surprise anyone that Jeb* or his PAC is going after Rube. Jeb* hired Rube to work for him, and he must believe Rube is betraying him by striking out on his own, and there’s always the Latino from Florida competition. To me they’re both yanquis with only a veneer of Latino.
P.S. I’ll be using an asterisk after his name in the same way MLB used an asterisk after Roger Maris’ name, as an afterthought.
