Discussion: Jeb Bush Says 2nd Amendment 'Won't Exist' In Hillary Clinton Presidency

Discussion for article #245957

I swear we heard the same thing in 2008, and 2012, about Obama, who has been wildly ineffective at taking away guns. There are more guns out there now because of fears stoked by conservatives that Obama would take away the guns. You’d figure people would pick up on the reality, but I guess they are too afraid to face reality in general.

Won’t exist in an Acronym Presidency, either. Since there will never be an Acronym Presidency. Something can’t exist in a vacuum.

It’s funny that che thinks that a Democratic president is going to get four justices rather easily.

He’s really just beating the air, isn’t he? We might just be watching the simultaneous death throes of the establishment Republican Party and movement conservatism this year. They’ve got nothing new to offer, which is why the base is so taken with two obvious caricatures of right-wing politics; they’re bound hand and foot to an electorate that is shrinking inexorably; and they can’t compete among themselves except by continually turning up the dial on obvious paranoid fantasies.

I’m still very worried about the short term, but this does not look like a political movement with a long-term future.

If Alberta Rafael or Drumpf are the Republican nominee, the question becomes how many Senate sets will they take down with them when they lose? Entirely possible that a Clinton Presidency could have a Democratic majority Senate to work with.

Bush to GOP voters: “I may come across as a decent fellow sometimes, but I’m a lying asshole, too – just like your favorite candidates.”

Jeb Bush Says 2nd Amendment ‘Won’t Exist’ In Hillary Clinton Presidency

Really, with Congress REPUG and also many states she would get a new Amendment through, yea if you believe that I got a bridge I don’t own for sale…I’ll even let it go cheap.

If saying things out loud automatically made them true, Jeb might want to start with: “Mother is proud of me,” and save everyone else a lot of energy and money.

Another fully factless Republican claim to get the yahoos all stomping crazy! Barack Obama has actually expanded gun rights in a variety of areas, while GOP lunatics continue to insist he’s going door-to-door confiscating weapons.

It’s a foundational plank of Republicanism, believing the exact opposite of the truth.

If Hillary Clinton gets the four Supreme Court justices, the Second Amendment won’t exist," Bush said. “It just won’t.”

The purpose of the Supreme Court is to rule whether laws passed by Congress and/or the States are Constitutional.

The Second Amendment, being part of the Constitution, is, by definition, Constitutional, so it is impossible for any number of justices to cause the amendment not to exist.

Of course, President Clinton could get both chambers of Congress to pass an amendment banning guns. She’d just need a 2/3 majority of each chamber as well as the approval of the legislatures of 38 states.

In what universe does Jeb! believe any of the above is possible?

But of course it won’t. Because Obama is FINALLY going to declare martial law and suspend the election. Duh

Oh yes! Nicely done!

You got it.

“If Hillary Clinton gets the four Supreme Court justices, the Second Amendment won’t exist," Bush said. “It just won’t.”

No explanation as to how, why, where, when, this will take place. No real conviction about the lie at all. It. just. won’t.

Just goes to show that Jeb is doing his job as a sales rep, for the gun industry.

Just like Obama did. Just like Clinton did.

¡JEB! doesn’t believe it. He’s just saying it to try to gain support from the redneck base. That the next Democratic president is going to take away all their guns is an article of faith with them. And when he doesn’t, then the next one will for sure.

Breyer is 77, Ginsburg is 82, Scalia is 79, Kennedy is 79 and Thomas is only 67.

If Hillary gets 4 Justices, its most likely replacing two liberals and two conservatives.Which IS huge, no doubt…but no way she get a shot at replacing 4 conservative justices.

Ginsburg is almost certainly going to be replaced in the next 8 years. With Hillary in the White House, I could see Breyer possibly stepping down, but neither Scalia or Kennedy would voluntarily…they would wait it out in hopes of a republican in 2024. Thomas can wait even longer.

Roberts, Alito, Kagan and Sotamayor are there for a long time.
