Discussion: Jeb Bush Listed Himself As Hispanic, Spokeswoman Has No Explanation

Maybe Barbara had a gardener from south of the border that took care of her private garden all those years ago. Instead of a WASP maybe he is a White Anglo Spanish Person. Or as the right wing fascists would say, an illegal. Bush is just the rest of the clown car republicans, a lying liar.

I’m going to go with “momentary brain fart,” but I note that a) a couple of hundred similar brain farts in Palm Beach County helped his idiot brother get elected appointed president b) [insert obligatory observation of obvious fact that if he was was a Democrat, the ridicule would be unending and there would likely be hearings and indictments here.]

Agreed. If Jeb takes any heat it will be from Republicans who are angry that Jeb tried to deny his God given whiteness. With Obama’s War on White People, they don’t need their own trying to pass themselves off as Latino.

Born a WASP, aspires Hispanic.

I’d hold my breath and wait for the same shit storm conservatives had over Elizabeth Warren Harvard declaring her a Native American, but I’d asphyxiate before any thing remotely like that happens. This is just another crystal clear example of just how hypocritical conservatives are.

Sorry, y’all, but we can’t be progressive about race and ethnicity and then throw that all out the window just to score points on someone we don’t like. A person can be any number of ethnicities at any one time, it is fluid, and it is self-determined. You don’t agree with what someone self-identifies with? Well that’s precious, but also neither here nor there. If you were him, maybe you’d put something. But you aren’t him. It’s not fraud. It’s the way ethnicity works.

I know why! to get the latino vote of course.

Wait, isn’t that voter fraud to fill out the registration form with known false statements?

That is a felony! He should not be able to run for Pres. And, I want to see his immigration papers!

Jeb was trying to bolster the GOP big tent lie by jacking up the number of Hispanics that vote republican.

Juicy. Very juicy.

Scott Brown should run. He has experience questioning and impugning his opponent’s race.

Mitt Romney also shoulda claimed to be Hispanic. His ancestors escaped liberal oppression in the USA, exercised religious liberty, married child brides and practiced polygamy in Mexico.

BTW: the lady with the glasses in the picture accompanying the headline is checking the Hispanic Jebya out.

So, if one day Karl Rove decides to starts self-identifying as black, I’m supposed to forget all those years he was white and pretend he’s a black man? Sorry, nope.

Looking at the form, it’s kind of easy to see why he might have done this by mistake. At the top of the form, you fill in the blob to the right to signify an answer, down below, it’s to the left. Of course by that logic, he’d have been registering as a black voter.

Wait, what? He lived in Venezuela for 2 years? What kind of pinko, liberation theology did he absorb while living there? He obviously put Hispanic as a message to his Marxist masters. Has he released his birth certificate? Why isn’t Donald Trump on this, sending agents to Venezuela to find the truth?

How’s that? My wacko conspiracy talents are a little rusty.

I’m reminded of a joke told by a Jewish comedian - maybe Jackie Mason - back in the early 60’s when Sammy Davis Junior converted to Judaism. The comedian said something to the effect: “Sammy had to have a lot of courage to do that, I for one, would not have the courage to convert to being black.”

Now you’re trying to parse race and ethnicity, which I don’t fault you for as both are fairly BS metrics. But one can most certainly be white and Hispanic, or black and Hispanic, or x, y, z, and Hispanic, and ethnicity has more to it than the melanin content of one’s skin. Side note: check out Roediger’s “Working Toward Whiteness” - there’s discussions to be had around that; there frankly aren’t many to be had around this. This is the crap we accuse the other side of. It’s also why I avoid Kos… but that’s just me.

Juan Ellis Arbuto, el exigente.

Kind of has a ring to it, doesn’t it?

the republicans excel at projection… if they’re accusing democrats of doing something, you can damn well bet the republicans have already done it.
