Discussion for article #239069
Remember when people thought he was the smart one?
You’re a Bush. We automatically assume you “misspoke” until proven otherwise.
Oops!
Jeb! went onto note - I demanded tax dollars pay for health care that was consistent with my personal religious beliefs for a brain dead woman in Florida. Today Katherine Harris is still alive!
Democrats and Republicans agree we absolutely must defund them .
That would be only two! senate “Democrats” Joe Donnelly and Joe Manchin, and just a few in the house. Damn these assholes for allowing Jeb! to use the bipartisan, faux centrist trope.
Republican leadership to female voters: “The GOP has your back.”
American women to Republican Party: “WE will decide whether or not our rights and health care needs are being assaulted by conservative policies, thank you very much.”
Only vaguely at this point.
Don’t be so hard on poor ¡JEB!
¡JEB! no hablo Inglés too good. Is his second language.
“They misunderestimated me.”
“Rarely is the question asked: Is our children learning?”
“There’s an old saying in Tennessee – I know it’s in Texas, probably in Tennessee – that says, fool me once, shame on --shame on you. Fool me – you can’t get fooled again.”
“Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we. They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we.”

I would like to think that our senator, Joe Donnelly, felt compelled to vote as he did, figuring that in an upcoming re-election bid, a vote FOR Planned parenthood wouldn’t sell well in Indiana. Possibly same for Manchin in W VA. Still unforgiveable! Esp as the indiana Rethuglicants are deadset opposed to anything which isn’t tied to RFRA or other wing-nut causes. No sooner does Obama come out for cutting greenhouse gas emissions, than our wonderful AG (gonna run for Congress - another idiot Rethug!!) was filing suit, no doubt with Pence’s approval.
Persistent vegetative state…
I can’t wait for Will Ferrell to do an updated version of this skit, this time with the Bush brothers (but who will play ¡JEB! ?)
The Saudis and other authoritarian Wahabbi Sunni tyrants in the middle east have had inordinate influence over the Bush family for decades.
John Bush’s values on women reflect the Saudi influence on the Bush family in his formative youth and adult period.
That was the meme within the family, not the public’s perception and never will be…
“Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush (R) quickly walked back earlier comments that he was ‘not sure we need half a billion dollars for women’s health issues’….”
If it’s a legitimate gaffe, his spox has ways to shut that whole thing down.
Texas Republicans and close family friends who have known the Bush family for decades have always stood by the view that George was the smarter Bush brother. That is why George was anointed over John by the family to run even though they were governors concomitantly.
He of course fails to mention that PP does EXACTLY what he says that money should be spent for.
That’s the problem in a nutshell. Re-election is so much more important than advocating for the women in the states these DINOs represent.
Perhaps ¡JEB! should suggest that we read his lips to avoid any misspeaking?
Worked out so well for Pappy Bush.
