Discussion: Jared Kushner's Sister Woos China's 'Golden Visa' Investors

Nepotism at its finest. Will this nightmare of a presidency ever make sense or a rational, moral, decision? If Hillary made these type of moves, the Right would be screaming.

Conflict of interest?
Oh, but there’s a Chinese Wall between Kushner and Dear Leader.
Built with Russian financing.
Believe me.

Grifters just gotta grift. From Raw Story:

Reporters alerted to the Bejing event, billed by host Chinese company Qiaowa in their brochures as “Invest $500,000 and immigrate to the United States,” were quickly ushered out as the event started and Kushner’s sister began her sales pitch.

According to the Post, reporters who had initially been seated at the very back of the ballroom were told they would have to leave by a public relations aide saying foreign reporters were disturbing the “stability” of the program. One reporter had their backpack and phone grabbed by an event organizer as reporters were blocked from asking event attendees questions as they exited the ballroom.

Asked why reporters were booted, a public relations aide stated, “This is not the story we want.”

Interesting photo today from NYT. The advertisement poster at this event clearly shows Trump. How can this not be a conflict of interest ?

The really awesome part of this is how clearly it shows that the alt-right got thoroughly played by Trump. The alt-righties were screaming all campaign about how the visa program was being abused by yellow and brown people who were taking jerbs that rightfully belonged to the downtrodden white American working class, and Trump very happily pandered to them in order to get elected.

Haha, suckers…Trump’s “Golden Visa” is nothing less than a golden shower for the alt-right.

Who’s the cuck now?

Sounds an awful lot like “Pay to Play”

This is an overt action without even the slightest attempt to disguise it as something other than it is.
And what it is, is this clan of high stakes grifters that have wormed their way to the top of the US power structure and are milking it tit by tit.

Only those that would otherwise complain the loudest about such things would even attempt to actually do it in bright daylight.

Oh-btw, they also control the ethics dept.

“Jared Kushner’s Sister Woos China’s ‘Golden Visa’ Investors.”

I am surprised that no one here had renamed these “Golden Showers Investors.” So I will do it. :joy_cat:

Not just the Right. Every newspaper, with the NYT leading the pack, would be writing editorials every day demanding her resignation/impeachment.

As for Chiselin’ Trump, himself, he’s wooing China’s golden shower investors.

I’m sure this is a completely up and up, arms length transaction. /s
So there’s a new crime family in the US. Isn’t this how Rupert Murdoch became a US citizen?

Grifters grifting and the reporters were thrown out .

Surprised this isn’t getting more attention. This is a blatant pay for play scheme as a way to attract business for themselves. This is nothing more than the practice of giving favored status to investors using their connections as unelected figures, which in turn benefits their private business interests and thereby themselves. The Kushners interests have never been fully divested either. They act like courtiers to a king, where they are intent on enriching themselves while they can.

How can anyone look at this story and not see a problem here? Where are the Republicans in all this? Why is no one asking them to do something legislatively to put a stop to this if they think it fails the emoluments clause (which it doesn’t)?

These people like to make bogus claims about how the Clinton Foundation attracted foreign contributions as a way to influence the Clintons. The hypocrisy is outrageous. On these matters involving the tRumps and Kushners, their pay for play schemes have jumped the shark. They’re unashamedly out in the open, without any fear of consequence, for the obvious corruption this portends. I pray this catches up with them in a significant way, and soon. This is not normal or acceptable in any way.

Fortunately, the Chinese have a nice term for this, guanxi, the system of social networks and influential relationships which facilitate business and other dealings. Just people helping each other. Of course, the Chinese in recent years have begun to understand that corruption is a barrier to economic development and it has reached a point when less corruption might be necessity. The stunt probably would have been wildly successful on the Chinese side even a few years ago, but today it’s a bit naive to think that Chinese citizens are up for such straight ahead bribes at present.

Google “Vermont EB-5 Fraud” to see how the program can go wrong. But I’m sure Kushner Companies will be a paragon of integrity in their involvement.
