The Saudis bailed out Dubya with pocket change, and he fit nicely in their pockets. What the Russian mobsters and Saudi princes found out was that these people can be a really useful and cheap investment. Likewise, a lot of Congress.

It’s not like it would be a difficult problem to get your own doctor to prescribe Ambien. Maybe the wake-up pill would be a harder sell. These accusations are bad but so often the side scandals obscure the fact that the guy is totally unqualified to lead the VA.

I guess part of the problem is that Trump’s idea of what makes someone great or brilliant or whatever other superlative he’s attaching to Jackson is based on who Trump is, and how he got where he is – so he sees anyone who rises to the top of his or her career/profession as “great,” regardless of how that person got there.
Look at Trump: he’s largely a product of his own hype, helped along by shady business practices and a record of not paying his bills – but he’s the Fking President of the United States: he’s The Greatest!
In fairness, Ronny Jackson might not be as thoroughly terrible as Trump, but the things he’s allegedly done, the behavior he’s allegedly exhibited, along with his lack of management experience, should have made him ineligible to even be considered for the VA position.
That’s another failure of Trump’s judgment, and it’s a failure of Jackson’s judgment for accepting the nomination. That Jackson is doubling down thanks to Trump’s doubling down is just further evidence that Jackson is not qualified for the position.
He was never qualified for it – even if these allegations weren’t out there (and for what it’s worth, I think there are going to be more of those, and they are going to be worse than what we already know).
I suppose it’s possible that Jackson is just trying to salvage his career at this point, and is hoping to find a way to gracefully exit, but honestly, how unaware do you have to be in the first place to not know that everything Trump touches turns to crap? To see that Trump’s Cabinet Secretaries are hell-bent on destroying the thing they are charged with administering, and Jackson would be installed to do the same thing to the VA?
Even if I was drunk on my ass, I’d be able to see that.

There is no way he doesn’t do SOMETHING. He’s too erratic to be sober unless he’s bipolar.
Well, lets keep him in the White House. Maybe Trump will have a medical emergency that Jackson cannot handle. It is better than going through impeachment and it would give Veterans a moment of joy having dodged another bullet.

I travel internationally over multiple time zones all the time (frequently to Asia from NYC) and walk directly into meetings drug-free. Part of the job description. Those that can’t handle it need to get another position.

If their was any evidence that this WH could do devious better than Wile E. Coyote, I might speculate that Jackson was nominated, and now defended, by Drumpf to draw attention away from Pruitt and shift it onto the Obama administration.

I feel like I am being distracted. Trump has so little respect for any of the institutions of government that he just nominates people he knows and people who say nice things about him. It doesn’t even rise to the level of trolling. He still believes he can “act more presidential” than anybody. He is a child. HIs list of potential candidates all come from relatives, people he sees on FOX news, and people he personally knows. That’s why we get Jared, and Bolton, and his pilot and his doctor. It is just a continuation of his reality show, and he is getting spikey because people are being so mean to him. He has to watch FOX constantly to reassure himself that he is still popular.
He is not curious, he is not intelligent, he is not qualified to run a convenience mart, much less a country. Every day this guy is called Mr. President is another day of shame.
