Discussion: Jackson Called ‘Candy Man’ For Giving Out Meds, Drunkenly Banged On Door Of Female Employee

Absolutely right

Quite interesting in context how much Trump likes Jackson.

An Ode to the Candy Man
or
Good Night, Sweet Prince! We ‘ardly knew ye’!

Donnie, Donnie feeling mean
Tipped the scales at 319
Through the halls he’d storm and sulk:
“How can someone hide this bulk?”

“They mock me for my giant tush:
‘Fat as Taft and dumb as Bush!’
Perhaps less cake and fewer fries?
No, fuck that — I’ll tell more lies!”

“I’ll bribe my doctor with a deal:
The weight reported won’t be real
If he pretends that I am slim
I’ll give the whole VA to him!”

Spoke the doctor: “Never fear!
I’ll make your lard ass disappear!
I wave my pen and it’s a cinch —
80 pounds are gone and you grew an inch!”

“I did it!” Jackson said to Trump
“I wrote away your giant rump
Now give me what you promised me!
I want my own damn agency!”

When Donnie saw what Ron had done
He named him Doctor Number One:
“He’s not prepared to do the job
But he’s prepared to suck my knob.”

But instead of grossly sweating
Donnie should have done some vetting
For while hiding Donnie’s ass
Ronnie couldn’t hide his past

For it was drink that Ron liked best
And giving pills upon request
His demons plagued him when at work
His staffers couldn’t stand the jerk

They told the Senate, “Stop this pick!”
“This Jackson guy’s a real dick!”
Should he be hired or fired for cause?
For this, the Senate took a pause

Does Ronny really want a hearing?
To air his dirt for public leering?
Will Donnie stomp and make a fuss?
Or throw Dear Ron beneath the bus?

And this is where our tale ends
With a showdown looming for two friends
One of whom was clearly lying
For the one who’s fatly dying

So, please remember this sure lesson:
When it’s Donald you’re caressin’
While you’re screwing, you’re in luck
But when he’s done, it’s you who’s fucked

Trump is a gutter rat and anybody in a clean shirt and a fresh haircut looks qualified to him. The Admiral was not qualified before these rumors started circulating and no amount of support from Trump will change that. Do the man a favor and give him early retirement so he can become someone else’s problem.

If these allegations are correct, Jackson is not qualified to protect the health of any President, except for the Asshole-elect. Hey, Ronnie, Let’s have a double.

It explains the glowing review of Trumps physical.

Why wasn’t he removed after the report in 2012? It’s not like anyone had heard of him before he fawned over Trump.

Nicely done @reggid, nicely done!

This is Trump trolling us. He knows Jackson is a fraud. He probably knew it before any of us did. For all we know, it’s Trump leaking all this stuff for his own amusement. The larger meta point (intentionally or not) is that he’s mocking our gov’t and our processes. He has stacked a government with total and absolute incompetent frauds on purpose to prove that our Democracy ain’t s**t. He thinks we’re all suckers and he can send any joker up there, and if yells loudly enough they’ll all get confirmed. He’ll grift, everyone will grift, and the MSM and Congress will play along to keep the gravy train running. It’s the Michael Corleone argument from Godfather II that politics is a racket just like organized crime, and that those values we claim to hold are nothing more than a long con to keep the gravy train running. That kind of cynicism is corrosive to Democracy.

That guys like Manchin, Heitkamp, Paul and Donnelly freaked out and decided to vote to confirm Pompeo is an example of Trump’s meta point. Pompeo is a fraud. He lied about military service. Now he wants to lead the Department of State? In a less polarized time, Pompeo would be forced to resign. But the GOP has so damaged the notion of national interest by its investment in tribalism that people are afraid to call Pompeo out and demand his withdrawal from the process. That’s what this is about.

@slbinva posted a link to Frank Bruni’s column in another thread. One former navy doctor took exception to some of Bruni’s commentary, but definitely did not defend Jackson or his glowing report of Trump’s physical condition.

I was a Navy physician.

You don’t get to be an admiral without a substantial track record of competency. Schmoozing and flattery aren’t enough - though they may grease the skids to put you ahead of more deserving peers.

I don’t think this column is fair to Dr. Johnson.

On the other hand, Dr. Johnson’s report on Mr. Trump’s health was downright embarrassing.

I wonder what his motives might have been for giving such a ridiculous report on Mr. Trump’s health.

Perhaps he just wanted to keep his cushy job?

It’s fair to criticize Mr. Trump for his incompetence.

It’s also fair to criticize Dr. Johnson for lacking the moral fiber to admit that he is not qualified nor competent to run the VA.

It’s not fair to impugn him with imagined motives.

That would make you, Mr. Bruni, no better than Fox “News”.

Ouch. Bruni agreed that he had made some assumptions about Jackson, but emphasized the ridiculousness of the physical report. This description in his opinion piece was hilarious:

So when Jackson, dressed in his uniform as a Navy rear admiral, cast Trump as some pulchritudinous Captain America, the president had all the validation that he could ever want, and all the motivation that he would ever need to lift Jackson up.

That was inspired. You win it today.

It was “a youthful indiscretion.” You know, like George W. Bush getting busted for cocaine possession when he was 40…

Well, he doesn’t seem to like it when they’re forced to resign, because it makes him look bad or he likes/needs them around. Hope Hicks and Rob Porter to name two.

As far as Pompeo is concerned, if not him, who would be next in line?

We have to get through the next few months and hope that something changes in November. 2016 was a disaster. We need those red state senators to win reelection to have any hope of turning things around.

Yes, I’m curious about what happened after the IG report of feuding between the two docs in 2012. Maybe Kuhlman was fired and Jackson kept his job?

He continued through the rest of Obama’s term. Something changed in the medical unit personnel. Maybe he was given a chance to clean up his act - if so, did it work? There’s a lot more to the story.

Should that horrific situation arise, I’m pretty sure you want to be in a different state.

No wonder Donald chose him to head VA. He wanted another good report regardless of how things are really going.

You’re giving him way too much credit for cooking up some nefarious scheme. From what I can see, he’s just that smug and ignorant. He figures running the government is no different than running his corrupt, bankrupt, swimming in incompetence businesses. He’s unable to learn or change, so he’s just doing the same stupid things that made all his businesses fail to the point where he became wholly dependent on Russian oligarchs (and in a few cases, Saudi princes) to bail him out over and over.

Somebody fawns over him and trump rewards him/her with money and position. Somebody criticizes him and they’re fired. Somehow I can’t see him visualizing a long arc of history and his role in destroying democracy. He “thinks” no farther than his next Big Mac.

Someone posted that the advocacy groups for vets are frustrated and angry about all this upheaval, as they should be.

How much does Trump care about vets? They were pawns in his presidential campaign.

Well, that explains the weight and height stats, Dr. Ronny was drunk!
