I pay $50 to repeatedly type monkeys to get funtions visible? One of these days, I’ll just give up.
I use Firefox, and the icons are missing. I hate to do it, but fixing is faster if I complain on Twitter.
Put aside her being unqualified for a high level position in government and her husband barely able to pass a security clearance. She is not allowed to operate a business and advocate for it while serving in a position in the White House.
Papa Trump’s cell phone conversations are on an unsecure phone. Like father, like daughter in so many ways.
Your answer to the question posed by @erik_t about how could trumpp get this far in public life is a partial explanation. trumpp amuses, he entertains, he always has something to say even if it’s total lunacy but it’s repeatable (notice how often “sad” is used even here?) Failed businessman was insignificant, he was dynamite for ratings and continues to be. And our dear TPM’s writers are enablers as well.
What historians ought to concentrate on is why the media and the public, knowing he was a failed businessman with shady deals in shady countries, who lied repeatedly during the campaign still stepped up and treated him as a regular candidate, gave him a pass on his poor demeanor, and generally stood by while he whipped up a new batch of racism.
She’s right that it’s not equivalent because she knew in advance!
Shorter Hillary: “All of my emails that relate to any form of government
work … are all part of the public record. Everything’s been
preserved.”
HER PERSONAL EMAILS WERE NEVER PART OF THE RECORD. HER LAWYERS FILTERED THEM AS APPROPRIATE & EVEN REQUIRED.*

Actually, this doesn’t prove it’s a browser issue. I can postulate several failure modes in either software or hardware that would lead to the behavior we’re seeing.
At this point, based on the history of other bugs we’ve seen, I still think TPM forums are using a load-balanced, multiserver frontend (but with issues, as clearly it doesn’t automatically add additional servers when load increases). The point is that in such an environment, if you do an update, you need to update all the servers or some folks coming in will get the updates and others won’t, depending upon which of the multiple servers they access.
It’s possible that your first browser connection reached one server, the second a different one, which would lead to the behavior we’re all seeing. The answer, of course is to find the bug and apply the fix across the whole platform.
I think the larger issue is that clearly TPM cuts corners on its tech operations and support. From what I can see, they outsource the Forums piece, but that doesn’t let them off the hook. They need to either lean hard on their platform support crew, or get another platform. When I saw the call for a new level of support, I had some hopes that we’d see words to the effect that this would enable some additional tech resources - sadly, this has not happened. I’m still a subscriber, but this definitely doesn’t do them any favors in attracting more readers. :
ETA: reader @clemmers wrote - “seems to be a font recognition problem. No access to the appropriate font.”
This would be compatible with my theory, assuming they deleted a font or pushed out a font update but it didn’t reach all servers (of course, still assuming there’s more than one front end server in service).
RE: browser connections reaching different servers, that might be a problem at any given time, but I had this issue in the same manifestations both yesterday (with a new connection established today), i.e., Chrome not working and Safari working. Also, responses from others on the thread. Seems to be, as I said in a later post, something more subtle because there doesn’t always seem to be consistency.
Anyway, I am sure some where in the (hopefully near) future it’ll be straightened out.
“she used private email accounts for official business”
Email are emails, someone has to be pretty thumped in the head to believe that nonsense.
And today millions of people will show they are by believing her.
it is unfathomable to me - he’s not even outrageous or fun. I don’t watch Kardashian things or 'housewives of …" - but even they have more entertainment value for the vulgar than this stupid man
That always frustrated me about the Clinton discussions. It seems like people just assumed that, e.g., Gmail is somehow safer. It really isn’t. The fewer people who have access to the server, the better, as most exploits are social exploits rather than technical exploits. And in the case of a bad state actor, able to offer some huge incentives to tempt employees at your typical email provider, safety is even less assured.
My email account is on my ISP, of course, but I do not store my messages there. They are stored on my local system, which is as secure as I can make it. You would need to have physical access to the box or be extremely good at exploiting an as-yet-unpatched OS and firewall vulnerability, to see my email.
I know I’m not the only TPMer who never watched the celebrity apprentice show where moron made his bones. So it’s incomprehensible to me that so many others obviously did and decided on the strength of the waste of time it was that he would be a fine Commander In Chief.
When I heard the Forever President reference Gary Busey, Meatloaf and Little John at the correspondents dinner which infuriated the morn I realized he was part of the popular culture. Had no idea. But I did know cosmopolitan New Yorkers hated him and had for decades.
He says he’s rich.
No there is not an equivalency because Hillary wasn’t being a gigantic hypocrite and you are.
It’s now working for me.
Yeah, mine started working yesterday evening too. Looks like they resolved the hiccup!
