Discussion: Ivana Trump: Daily Beast Story About Rape Claim 'Totally Without Merit'

Discussion for article #238831

It’s old news and it never happened?

Those seem like somewhat contradictory terms IMO.

Wives and partners can in fact be raped but The Ivanka probably gets alimony or money in some form so must tread lightly on his sleazy rep.

That was my thinking as well. I’m sure the prick that is Donald Trump, put a clause in there that she is never to speak ill of him. But, can’t say for sure, so who knows?

This is a class of people who put clauses in contracts with employees that they may not speak derogatorily after their employment or suffer the consequences.

“You cannot rape your spouse. And there’s very clear case law.”

And then there is this thing called the Court of Public Opinion. And there, pulling out a legal definition IMMEDIATELY in response to this, is quite damning.

As I said, this is going to start to get very ugly as rest of the GOP starts their oppo research campaigns. This is merely the first stone…there is going to be a metaphoric rain storm of stones before this is over.

When someone brought that up when the media started asking about Walker’s past indiscretions, I also had to remind them that when you decide to run for President, EVERYTHING in your past is immediately news again.

hmmmm… interesting… Donnie Dipstick seems to’ve modeled his current coiffure after Ivana’s bouffant…

“Donald and I are the best of friends and together have raised 3 children that we love and are very proud of. I have nothing but fondness for Donald and wish him the best of luck on his campaign. Incidentally, I think he would make an incredible president.”

So, Ivana, does that mean you were totally lying all those years ago when you did your little guest-starring stint (as yourself) on the “Designing Women” television show? As I recall, you weren’t very fond of him back then.

If this story is “without merit,” then where did it (these details, that is) come from? Your mouth, perhaps?

That had to be one of the dumbest statements I ever heard from a lawyer. Marital rape is a crime in all 50 states by definition. There was a time it was classified as types of assault only, but the crime of “marital rape” exists in all 50 states as of 1993. Some states treat it differently than non-marital rape, but it’s still called “rape”. For him not to know that is just a total embarrassment, especially on an issue like rape. Wow.

Not only that, but the crime of “marital rape” exists in all 50 states. The article does not say if this happened outside the US, but I seriously doubt that. If he is referencing the US, he is wrong, marital rape exists as a legally defined crime.

Just wait…this isn’t going to be the only tidbit drawn up from his rocky marriage to Ivanna. Its going to start coming fast and furious down on Trump’s head.

My guess is his little threat last week about running 3rd party to the RNC, was because he knew this was coming. Now the ball is in his court on whether or not he goes through with his threat.

Oh, who cares if it happened or not. That is no longer relevant. It’s Trump! And titillating! Click on the link. You know you want to.

Wow. The ECHO CHAMBER is really starting to get desperate to stop The Trumpster.
They are even dredging up things from 30 years ago to try to slow him down and allow them to push the Oligarch’s choice of candidate: Jeb Bush.
It’s not going to work.
Among the knuckle-draggers and mouth-breathers that support Trump, being attacked by “The Media” (even their own incestuous FOX News/Drudge/Breibart/NewMax groups) is just a “Red Badge of Courage” to them, and a “waving red-flag to the bull(shit)” challenge to the Blond Buffoon himself.
Pass the popcorn, the internecine warfare in the Republican Party is going to get very, very ugly.

Donald’s “special counsel” appears to be a total shit-for-brains.

It’s not illegal to pay someone to make an out of court claim that testimony they gave, under oath and subject to penalty of perjury, was false once the action has concluded, just classless–though some state bars may think it an ethical violation.

But this stuff?

“You’re talking about the frontrunner for the GOP, presidential candidate, as well as a private individual . . .”

Yeah, contradiction in terms, dipshit. You don’t get to claim you’re a private person for purposes of defamation law when you’re running for president.

“who never raped anybody. And, of course, understand that by the very definition, you can’t rape your spouse.,”
You cannot rape your spouse. And there’s very clear case law."

Facepalm.

Aside from the fact that you’re flat out wrong, there’s also the apparent belief that rape is a common law rather than a statutory offense. Meaning that you research the statutes, not the fucking cases, if you’ve got the slightest doubt about whether their might have been some changes in the law since you went to law school in the mid-Twentieth Century.

Putz.

Beat me to it.

Wait for Marla, the second Mrs. Donald, to weigh in, but in a very hush hush and on the Q.T. manner

If Trump does have a big-ass scar on his scalp as a result of the surgery which gave rise to this episode, it would explain why he’s willing to appear ridiculous with his thousand dollar comb-over rather than just go for the Kingpin look, which, though I hate to give him credit for anything, he could otherwise actually pull off pretty well.
