Discussion: It Took 3 Days For Don Jr. To Cop To Meeting Russian Lawyer For Clinton Dirt

Arrogant and stupid people never know when to STFU.

It’s fun to read these stories…it makes us feel better about what has happened, it gives you hope that someone might actually be held responsible. But no one will got to jail for any of this, these people are rich and connected, and Republicans won’t prosecute one of their own, and Democrats will want to ‘look forward, not backward’ when they take power. At best some lower level person goes to jail as scapegoat…

Wall St literally defrauded the country and got away with it, nearly destroying the economy, which has never recovered, but somewhere today, someone in this country is going to prison for shoplifting.

I believe this post bears repeating just once:

‘This is Treason’: Some Legal Experts Say Trump Jr.’s Clinton Dirt/Russia Meeting Was Illegal

by Rachel Stockman | 7:46 pm, July 9th, 2017

Some legal experts are weighing in on news that President Trump’s son, Donald Trump Jr., apparently met with a Russian lawyer in the hopes of getting some dirt on Hillary Clinton during the heat of the presidential campaign. Several say what he did may be evidence of a crime.

Attorney Richard Painter, who served as an ethics lawyer for President George W. Bush, weighed in on twitter, blasting Trump Jr. as acting treasonous, and saying he should be questioned by authorities.

This is treason. He must have known that the only way Russia would get such information was by spying.

A meeting arranged by Donald Trump Jr. was held at Trump Tower in June 2016 with a Russian lawyer who has connections to the Kremlin.

Trump’s Son Met With Russian Lawyer After Being Promised Damaging Information on Clinton
Donald Trump Jr. is said to have arranged the meeting with the Kremlin-linked lawyer during the campaign after he was told he would be provided with details about Hillary Clinton.

In the Bush Administration we would have had him in custody for questioning by now.

It’s not treason if no one prosecutes it.

Shorter DJTJR: “I was looking for help in digging up dirt on Hillary, and I was ready to get it from a Russian. (Who cares what her name was?) She didn’t have anything good, so the meeting was useless. After all, I was only interested in colluding with the Russian lawyer to help the campaign.”

Also, if the WH defense team is denying any knowledge about the meeting, and DJTJR is on his own in this (along, perhaps, with Kushner and Manafort) are we seeing the first crack in unity among the family?

Trump appears to be giving up Uday to save his own skin. Is it possible Uday may seek a deal from Mueller in exchange for ratting out daddy?

Let Mueller do his job.

Liar. Traitor. Felon. May not have been a good idea for Dad to run for president.

Don the Con is loyal to no one outside of himself. Moreover, since we all know he is a terrible father, it’s possible his equally crooked kids will decide to save themselves and turn on daddy. Wouldn’t that be fun!

I’ll be very surprised if Trump Sr., Trump Jr., Bannon, or anyone else goes to prison for any of the treason or corruption. Scumbags like them usually get away with it - while regular people get arrested for minor shit. Disgusting.

One thing that a lot of people seem to be missing about this story…and admittedly its easy to do because Jr. is such an idiot…is that Bannon and Kushner were in the meeting too. In fact, Bannon and Kushner were in LOTS of meetings with Russians, or in trying to setup communications channels with Russians that couldn’t be traced. The infamous ask to use Russian facilities to communicate directly with the Kremlin, the back channel deal setup by Erik Prince to go through the UAE.

This is why I think they are trying to pin this all on Jr and Jr. alone. The Bannon/Kushner/Russia angle is widespread and dramatically more explosive. Because Bannon/Kushner were both in constant contact with Trump directly…day by day if not hour by hour. Once they get looped in fully, Donald himself is going to directly implicated.

If the GOP is thoroughly corrupt, and the Democratic Party refuses to hold anyone responsible or prosecute…well, it’s a free for all for the elites. It’s prison for the proles.

While as a general proposition I agree, treason is a different kettle of fish. It’s becoming pretty clear indictments are inevitable.

Donnie Sr will just pardon Donnie Jr, or Mikey pardons Donnie Jr, or Paulie pardons Donnie Jr…then the Democrats take power and prosecute no one.

Everyone in this scenario walks.

Exactly right. Bannon and Kushner are key to tying this treasonous activity to Don the Con. My guess is Kushner is more likely to flip and testify against Don the Con than Bannon.
