Discussion for article #241584
I’m still wondering why not Pelosi. The Republicans hate her, but the way they’re treating the Speakership, making her Speaker would make her life miserable.
Plus she has a rather large constituency.
Bwahahaha A felon for speaker? Proceed, GOP, proceed.
I think Issa’d potentially be a great repo man or manager of a payday loan shop. Speaker of the House, no, I don’t see so much potential for that.
Issa is a ass.
Issa, Chaffetz, Webster… their Speaker bench is almost as deep and as talented as their Presidential contenders
Better consider him! Issa might pull a concealed weapon, steal a getaway ___ of course, after setting the Capitol building on fire.

Irony overload!
Perfect example for a GOP candidate for…well, anything.
Democrats are enjoying this fiasco. Yesterday, House Democrat Mark Takano trolled the Republicans with a fake Craigslist ad for a House Speaker.
Mark Takano tweeted a screenshot of the ad out that included phrases like “Do you have experience negotiating hostage situations?”, “Proven ability to work with irrational people who pursue narrow priorities at the expense of millions of dollars,” and “Babysitting experience STRONGLY PREFERRED." Link:
Matt, I had a friend who was a repo man, and I can report that he was more ethical than Issa.
But manager of a payday loan shop seems about right.
Yeah, that was kind of my reaction as well.
Can you imagine some of the few remaining Moderate Republicans finally throwing in the towel and joining the Dems in order to stop this insanity?
Sure. I can imagine a unicorn with a gold-plated horn that defecates Snickers bars, too. I suspect both are on the same plane of reality.
That’s unfair. Really unfair. I’m sure there are a handful of relatively sane Republican Members. The problem is that they’re more interested in being re-elected than they appear to be in performing their duties. So I’ll modify your sentence:
Can you imagine some of the few remaining Moderate Republicans having enough sense of duty finally throwing in the towel?
Nope. I can’t.
Issa as Speaker — Well … this keyboard didn’t last very long ----
A thousand times up! Damn! What an asshole. Who votes for these pricks?
There is one simple reason Issa cannot be Speaker: He’s corrupt. That is also the simple reason that he shouldn’t even be in Congress at all.
Pricks!
Oh, I doubt that they ever would. As you said, they’re more interested in their own political careers and in preventing any governing happening than the fate of this country.
If this was about corruption, then Boehner and 90% of the GOP shouldn’t be in Congress.
He may be the perfect man for the Republicans. After all, he was an arsonist.
