Of course the FBI should fill Congress in on the details of all its investigations. How else can Congress run to the WH to fill them in, selectively leak information, grant immunity to preferred targets, and otherwise screw up the work

Yo Darrell, people who choose a career in law enforcement tend to “institutionally” not want to cooperate with attempts to subvert the course of justice, obstruct investigations into criminal activities, and cover for outright treason at the highest levels of government.
Or, shorter version, the GOP in Congress.
So yeah, you’re right. Gonna change in January, though, and I’ll bet you see a little bit more cooperation in the hearings after that.

Darrell, it’s not the Department of the House of Representatives. It’s the Department of Justice. Their loyalty is supposed to be toward the ideal of justice and away from people who muddy the investigative waters to provide cover for crooks. Surely even you can understand this.
