Discussion for article #224213
Slow motion genocide.
ISIS: Fast Motion Genocide.
Another excuse for the IDF to start murdering people. I wouldn’t be surprised if Israeli settlers staged the kidnappings.
Yes, Israel killed a mentally handicapped Palestinian, but the article stated that the Palestinian “approached” the Israelis which in and of itself is an act of terror, and furthermore comment that conflates half a century of history into one sentence ending with the assertion that those who disagree hate America and Israel.
What’s the difference if the kid was handicapped or not? It’s not like the IDF can discern that during their patrol, just makes them sound like cold blooded murderers of handicap kids.
Interesting how the headline says that Israeli troops killed someone who was “mentally handicapped” and yet the article itself never uses this term (instead saying he was mentally unstable). This and other stories also indicate the man charged at troops and that warning shots were fired.
Regardless of where you stand on the issue, this clearly is a dishonest headline intended to evoke a certain reaction. And were the soldiers supposed to call in a team of psychologists and psychiatrists to determine the man’s mental health condition as he charged at them?
C’mon TPM, let’s spare the sensationalism on such an emotionally charged topic.
The IDF needs no excuse to murder Palestinians. It is a sport to most Israeli soldiers. And the world merely yawns because another Palestinian is killed.
The IDF trains psychopaths to direct their rage on the Palestinians; women, children - it doesn’t matter. In fact, many IDF soldiers prefer killing women and children. Israeli soldiers’ blogs make this quite clear. The hatred expressed on these blogs is palpable.
The Likudists need incidents such as this kidnapping to serve as “justification” for ruthless murder.
Standard operating procedure:
The “soldiers” aren’t supposed to be murdering civilians.
Sure does sound like that.
An even-handed foreign policy is too much to ask for? Or must we continue relying on Israel to dictate our policy as related to Isreal and the Middle East?
Call a spade a spade.
Since the Israeli army kills Palestinian’s at rate of aprox. 100 Palestinian’s for every Israeli killed I would say that the headline is correct.
