Discussion for article #225656
What is there to say. It Israelis are on the offensive and don’t have any interest in stopping until they have expended all of their weapons.
“The closure of the tunnels drove Hamas into a severe financial crisis.”
Start a war, go into hiding while they bomb your citizens, all about the money.
Stones and rockets (not Missles) against Sea,Air and Ground attack, going on for 18 days are so.And Hamas is still fighting oh I forgot The Iron Dome also and Hamas is fighting from an enclosed area.Something is really strange about this scenario.
Bibi’s terrorist bastards…more evident every day!
The IDF – Continuing to advance the cause of peace.
Well, it’s an army, so obviously it’s fighting. That is what armies do–I’d think that someone who calls himself Captain Commonsense would get that.
One might argue, however, that what weakens Hamas does advance the cause of peace in the long term, or at the very least, has potential to, if Israel’s government then takes some steps to boos the PA and work out a political solution (I am not optimistic on this).
Gaza’s power plant was forced to shut down after two tank shells hit one of three fuel tanks
Although the general IDF action has been in response to Hamas rocket attacks, this particular attack was simply the Israeli response when they realized that some Palestinians still had electricity.
technically speaking both stones and rockets are “missiles.”
Nothing that strange–despite people’s hysterics, Israel is not trying to destroy the Palestinian population of Gaza. If they were trying to kill Palestinians indiscriminately, we wouldn’t be talking about 1100 dead. Nor do they want to reoccupy Gaza. Again, if they did, we wouldn’t be talking about 1100 dead, nor would we be talking about “buffer zones.”
Not a single hospital or school bombed, or soccer-playing child on the beach killed, in this story.
You’re slacking off, IDF.
That’s odd, because much of Gaza’s electricity is actually provided by Israel.
I say this, by the way, not to suggest Israel should stop that-they are obligated to–but to point out that if Israel really wanted to destroy electricity in Gaza, they could do it pretty easily. And, quite frankly, they could obliterate Gaza’s own power plant and could have done so on the first day.
Well, perhaps Hamas wasn’t launching any rockets from next to a hospital or school this morning.
Incidentally, whether it was Hamas or Israel (still disputed), nobody actually hit al-Shifa hospital yesterday. Apparently, it was some sort of wall on the hospital grounds.
Don’t forget to Hasbara on the Jon Stewart thread also…unless your contract for the day doesn’t pay for posts made there.
No, we aren’t allowed to criticize Jon Stewart. He and his brother are too important for our efforts to control the media and American finance. Stewart is allowed to make these comments, but don’t worry, at the end of the day, we all know where his tribal loyalties are.
At least you have a sense of humor.
You know, for that courtesy, I will endeavor to change my tone and to say nothing bad about you for the remainder of our exchanges, no matter how insulting you are to me (point of fact, I am neither a racist nor a fascist nor a Zionist agent paid or otherwise) nor inaccurate (point of fact, I am still neither a racist nor a fascist nor a Zionist agent, paid or otherwise). Starting…now.
PS–if you have called me neither a fascist nor a racist, I apologize, but in my defense, I didn’t start being civil until after the statement.
They are also nouns, and are frequently composed of metals. How did you fail to point this out?
I’ve seen you make intelligent arguments before, I know you can do it, please don’t slide further into shallow word games. It cheapens us all.
You are right as far as stones go, but I would also say that parsing the meaning of “missiles” and “rockets” in this context is also a bit pedantic. yes, the M-302 may not have a guidance system, but it is a military rocket that can hit Tel-Aviv–and if it did, pretty good chance somebody would get hurt if not killed. So I’d say that my pedantism is about equal to suggesting that the similarity between a military rocket and a military missile is no greater than that between a military rocket and a can of coke.
That said, you used me in a sentence with the word “intelligent” and no nullifier, so how can I stay mad at you?
Pedantic wordplay withdrawn.
