Discussion for article #239443

The Leader of ISIS is a rapist. Those who would join him will have nothing at the end. A rapist.

It’s not rape if there are not 4 men to confirm the event…Or so I’ve heard.

There’s apparently a lot more corroboration, and detail, than you get from this story.

If we don’t give this psychopath the same treatment we gave Bin Laden, I’m going to be very disappointed.

Please see: Deuteronomy 21:10-14

No long enough. Eternal damnation would be too easy.

The point isn’t that they’re using the Quran to justify it, the point is that they’re doing it. They’re doing it, not sporadically or on an ad hoc basis, but, rather systematically and have incorporated it both into their ideology and their recruiting strategy. Which makes your citation to the OT kinda totally off point.

My point is that Koranic Law does not differ from Mosaic Law.
And Mosaic Law is embraced by Christians as their own.

This is the dissonance I am trying to highlight.

You seem to be saying “Yes, the theoloy is grotesque, but that’s not the problem. The problem is that it’s being used to justify grotesque behaviors” That makes no sense to me. Both are problems.

Or something slower and more degrading…dog rape comes to mind…but, nothing quick like a drone.

Fuck Bush, Cheney and all the warmongering republicans for lying us into this senseless war. Every single drop of blood is on them!

Neocon propaganda?

What? You have trouble believing the head of ISIS would do this?
I’m gonna go with Occam’s razor…

Happily a single coalition airstrike reportedly killed 50+ Daesh filth this week and Daesh itself executed 90 of its own for treason/retreating. http://www.petercliffordonline.com/syria-iraq-news-5/
I categorically support Pres. Obama’s underreported policy of aggressive air attacks, special ops and mostly reliance on local people to root out this menace. The one thing I don’t get is our unwillingness to arm and work more closely with the Kurds in N. Syria and Iraq, who have proven the only ones really willing to fight. We always seem to be deferring to Turkey, which has proven to be a terrible ally for many years. erdogan only just recently began allowing us to use incirlik airbase for operations against Daesh, and that was only after they launched attacks into Turkey.

Disgusting. It is not surprising that the barbaric members of ISIS are capable of unspeakable evil given what their leader is doing. The fervently religious are capable of horrific evil.

And the Republicans refuse to support an AUMF against Islamic State in spite of the rape or because of the rape?

Oh no, please leave the innocent animals out of it. I can think of far worse things for him

Maybe so, but I’m not sure why any rational person should trust this information to do anything or feel any way in particular:

  1. He’s already dead. Action motive: check as unnecessary.
  2. Our side claims to have killed him. Revenge motive: check as fulfilled/
  3. U.S. intel claims are no longer quite so bankable as anything other than propaganda, particularly so whenever it involved someone’s who’s been “detained” and “questioned” leading to U.S. military intel’s recovery of “significant intel”.
  4. Walk thru hearsay chain - we’re being asked to believe folks who’ve lied to us for like ever who themselves are relying on someone we know knothing about who even then we can all see his incentives to tell “U.S. intel” this story, or at least some story that might be massaged into this one.

I never met Katya Mueller but her career resume speaks to the sort of commitment level that the Catholic Church saints folks for. It’s a shame she’s unable to denounce how her abduction and death have been seized on by a Fox News tool for U.S. partisan politics.

i’ve long been wondering if the promise of sex slaves isn’t one of the main drivers attracting these guys. coming from an environment of extreme sexual repression and devaluation of woman, i’m convinced it is. there are videos of gatherings of these men waiting for the auction of women to begin. the level of depravity these girls and women are subjected to is unimaginable. i would guess that a very large percentage of these martyrs for caliph are rapists and pedophiles.

I don’t think there’s any doubt. ISIS enables rape and justifies it for those who wish to perpetrate it. Joining ISIS should pretty much forfeit one’s right to life…
