PM Cameron, Unleash the SAS
Now ISIS is trying to control who goes to war against them. ISIS is indeed very dangerous, so are many of the regimes in Africa, Evangelicals advocating murdering homosexuals in Africa, conservatives taking advice from Cheney and McCain and that ass the thinks we should bomb for a few weeks and see what happens.
ISIS has been beheading women and children in Iraq since they started this cycle of crazy religious fervor. The only difference is that they WANT the US to become involved and the rest of the world and they have learned to use technology and psychology to fire up fear and loathing among American citizens.
I am extremely sorry for the families because no one should have to experience that, but I am also extremely sorry for the Sandy Hook victims and the family of those 5 children killed by their father this week. However we didn’t go to war over guns, in fact the same men who are advocating sending our children to war AGAIN were the first to cower in the face of the NRA.
When did the American people become invisible and mute?

Going to war – as in boots on the ground – is not necessary in this case. But surgical drone bombing is. In the cases you cite – Sandy Hook and a murderously demented father – is there even a remote possibility of the killers doing the same thing tomorrow or next week? Obviously not, as Adam Lanza is dead and Timothy Ray Jones is being held for trial. If such a possibility existed – as it clearly does with ISIS – there would likely be an enormous law enforcement effort to stop them. Extrapolating their murders into gun safety legislation is, unfortunately, too abstract for most Americans. Not a good analogy at all.

Oh, did I say “beheadings”? I meant, “slow, hacking off of a head with a small knife.” You see, unlike those infamous (fake) Kuwaiti babies-in-incubators stories, we actually have the videos that we can play and over and over again to hear the screeching, the horror and the pain. But if you think about the US doing something about it, well, then you need to be condemned as war monger.

And your point is? Why don’t you use the direct language so people understand your position instead of hiding in irony, and ridiculous comments? State your position and discuss ideas.
It’s almost as if ISIS doesn’t know what to do now that they made so much progress and is now bogged down.
So to keep up their courage and get attention that could result in more funds and equipment from the Saudis, they are acting like victorious barbarians. Makes you wonder if the Saudi are just like Assad.
Just because Bush liked holding hands with the Saudi princes, doesn’t mean with should jump everytime the Sunnis say “Boo.” It’s not like they have any well thought out plan on how to conquer the world. They just play video games on social media to get ideas.
ISIS could turn on the Saudis (and the rest of the Muslim dictators), too, and probably will. That would be the Saudis’ fault and they need to deal with it themselves.

Too bad we don’t have the video for that Afghan wedding party we blew into red mist, or the thousands of other noncombatants we’ve slaughtered, people just as dead as if they were beheaded with a pair of chopsticks, including women and children.
Yeah, too bad, because if we can’t watch the video, why, it just didn’t happen. So if we did have those videos, we just might take a deep enough breath to realize this isn’t about beheadings any more than it was about incubators, the relative veracity of the particular Goldstein narrative now in play aside. The oil is in jeopardy, and it must flow.

Doing something about what? You want to be praised as a peace monger? Then prioritize based on sheer numbers of senseless slaughter and do something about the most egregious injustice to humanity with the most urgency, namely, the terrorism at our hand that spawns from our addiction to fossil fuel.
We cannot kill our way out of this problem.

Unless by “the American people” you mean “me, the only American whose opinion should count” (a stance ordinarily associated with the other guys, not us), I think you need to look at some polling. Popular opinion, including among liberals, is in favor of going after these people.

also a liberal. But then the point of your post was not to discuss or inform
