Discussion: ISIS Claims American Hostage Killed In Jordanian Airstrikes

Discussion for article #232971

At least she won’t be beheaded, set of fire, burned, raped, or married off on some slick ISIS video posted to youtube.

And Fox Not the News is going to prove it by showing us burning a pilot to death!

My thoughts, too. Additionally, I am glad she is now out of the misery I’m sure she was enduring.

Let’s open a can of WHOOP ASS and randomly bomb some shit.
Show 'em who’se boss. Yeah - Bring it ON!! It’s what Clint Eastwood & Chuck Norris & John McCain (and thousands of others) would do.

What could possibly go wrong??

ISIS held her, They are responsible. They are nothing more than a death cult like Boko Haram. and Fox news supports this outfit.

Which group do I hate more…ISIS, Boko Haram, or Fox. Hmmmm. And @Patriott, I would not be surprised if ISIS put her where she’d be killed by bombs on purpose. They are capable of the worst sort of mayhem.

She was worth much more to them alive and as a pawn in their propaganda war.

I am sure Fox News (a.k.a. ISIS propaganda network in the US) will show us the body.

As I have said several times on TPM, I think ISIS is a death cult. They could care less if an American woman was killed or not. In fact from what has been posted by them they take great pride in torture and killing. And the more brutal the better. Christian, Jew, Muslim, English, Japanese, French, American…it makes no difference. She would have been a valuable pawn in just about any other criminal or extremist outfit (except maybe Boko Haram) but not ISIS. Other outfits operate in ways that make some logic that we understand. Not ISIS

And they will take pleasure in doing so. An added bonus would be blaming Obama.
Sheesh.

That was exactly what I was thinking as well. The Jordanians are not to blame, ISIS is.

And I’m saying that I’ve seen and heard the outrage in this country over the death of a Jordanian man. Yes, two American men also. I shudder to think how much that dial on the old outrage meter would be turned up if it were an American woman.

They’ve held her since 2013? They might have been saving her for a special purpose.

So sad, and so sad to say she was obviously never going to enjoy freedom again in this world. ISIS only take hostages so that they can make unreasonable ransom demands that they know in advance we won’t meet (since we don’t negotiate with terrorist kidnappers anyway). Therefore, her fate was sealed beyond any reasonable doubt the day they seized her. May she rest in peace.

Cheney and neo-cons very quiet while Iraq and Syria burn… Maybe because the worst days of Saddam Hussein’s rule seem almost like a picnic compared to what it is now. Pretty sure ISIL is not what Cheney had in mind when he said we’d be greeted as liberators.

Lesson learned. It is always better to weigh carefully both unintended and intended consequences, costs in human life and treasure against benefits of military intervention BEFORE initiating it.

The latest from CNN is that there is no proof the woman was killed. The Jordanians are saying this is a PR stunt by ISIS.

Cheney has no real understanding of the middle east. His out look is simplistic and seen thru a repub lens that has no relation to reality.

Arrogance becomes him.

It’s his sneer I think. And the full throttle denial of reality.

Dylan ,

What’s with the juvenile denialism in calling IS ISIS?
