Discussion: Is Botched Poli Sci Mailer Experiment Linked To Sillicon Valley Start-Up?

Discussion for article #229483

Stanford and Dartmouth should really, really be questioning whether they want their elite university brands plastered on their professor’s marketing efforts towards his own private startup.

The mailer is indistinguishable from thousands of others that 501©4(tp) political entrepreneurs are spamming out across the country to approximately everyone, and the whole episode looks more and more like a professor trying to cash in on his university funded research.

The notion of an ideological spectrum is a fraud, one which ironically best serves those on the “ideological right.” Human cultures have a bias towards the right hand. As a brand, “right” has might. Also, the notion that one variable can accurately describe the salient aspect of any system is highly suspect, when that system is something more complex than a thermostat.

“Left,” “right,” “middle” - all these terms are wrong. Time we moved away from them. What this company is doing, what this “research” is doing, in reinforcing the illusion of the ideological spectrum, is deeply destructive.
