Discussion: IRS Head Won't Say Whether Mnuchin Will Make Final Call On Trump's Taxes

The law is very clear here. It seems like a minor issue, but if Trump deems to break the law here its the first step down the road to a dictatorship. The Democrats need to nut up and act accordingly.

Looks like they’re dotting their i’s and crossing their t’s and giving the Trumpsters all the rope they can possibly handle.

Barr may be a smart guy, but he’s just one of the smart lawyers hanging around D.C.

I sure do wonder what Mueller thinks about all this, because he’s seen all the evidence. Hard to believe he wants the crooks to get away with it.

Quigley eventually zeroed in on Rettig’s legal authority: “Is it your understanding that you have discretion under this sort of a request, under the law? That you can decide whether or not to comply…?”

“I think it’d be inappropriate for me to identify what the understanding is with respect to that,” Rettig responded.

So America is a nation “of laws, and not of men”?

Today’s GOP says otherwise.

This reminds me of old Three Stooges clips where the Stooges have been caught doing something stupid and are asked who is responsible and they all point to the other two.

Of all the bullshit that’s gone down, this one seems to be the line in the sand/Rubicon that they’re struggling the most to decide whether or not they’re going to cross.

The law seems pretty black and white and these treasonweasels have been painting everything else with shades of gray.

They’re due tomorrow?

Bet they ask for extension.

“I think it’d be inappropriate for me to identify what the understanding is with respect to that,” Rettig responded, refusing to go further.

Ummmm, HOW would it be “inappropriate” to explain your view on the scope of your job???

But will they release the real tax returns? Or the fake ones?

Actually, with Donnie, they’re both the same.

Speaking of releasing taxes, Bernie said he will release ten years of taxes before Monday the 15th.
He also admitted to being a millionaire. That’s going to dent his socialist credentials.

After redactions, I’m guessing this is what the released returns will look like…

Another productive day of hearings on The Hill; nobody answered anything about anything.

How will he respond?

Simple. After the courts rule he is breaking the law he will slow-walk it until they threaten to jail him.

Answering a yes/no question is only difficult if you’re evading the truth.

“We’re working on it,” Rettig, who owns property at a Trump-branded project, replied.
Did anyone ask this typically-corrupt-Trump-twit why he hasn't recused himself from this issue?

Not even that.

America, a nation in which it is “inappropriate” to identify what the understanding is with respect to that.

Quite a mouthful.

I bet they just blow it off.
