Discussion for article #225272
I would be most surprised that a state sponsor of terrorism and whose leaders have called for the destruction of Israel would agree to a deal favorable to the US, much less live up to such a deal.
I was skeptical on the Geneva agreement and I’m skeptical on this one. I don’t trust the mullahs in charge of Iran to be fully transparent with inspectors and I don’t trust the Russians or Chinese (who have plenty of their own reasons to want to see the U.S. humiliated by the Iranians getting a nuke) to hold Iran’s feet to the fire.
If only US politicians would show the same resolve towards the only true nuclear power threatening the Middle East but since they’re all bought and paid for by Israeli politicians using American taxpayer’s dollars that’ll never happen. If you want Iran to wind down it’s nuclear research then get Israel to do the same. It would be foolish of Iran to disarm in the face of naked aggression by Israel and it’s constant threats to attack Iran. As long as Israel has the bomb Iran should too. Never forget that according to Netanyahu Iran has been six months away from acquiring the bomb for over twenty years. Netanyahu and his bought and paid for quislings in Congress should have no say in Iran’s private affairs nor for that matter should a historically proven biased America. How about for the first time in US history you mind your own god-damn business for a change and try and clean up the mess inside your own country. Between homelessness, health insurance, porous borders, politicians with single digit IQs and banksters walking free after destroying your economy I’d say you’ve got enough on your plate at home.
The Iranians have been far more transparent than the Israelis. When were international nuclear inspectors ever allowed to inspect Dimona or any of Israel’s other nuclear facilities?
Except Israel is a stable Democracy, while Iran is a theocratic dictatorship run by extremist mullahs who believe Allah wants them to destroy Israel and wipe the Jews off the face of the earth.
Israel is not out to destroy Iran.
Talk-talk is always better than shoot-shoot.
I’m not sure which number on the list that this is, 25-50 maybe? But, it is one more solid reason not to let the neo-cons back in power. They shoot first or bomb first? They don’t pay attention to evidence that goes against their war wishes and they don’t listen once they fuck up.
It is about not using nukes but also about not creating reasons for more nukes. Plus, not provoking people into having no other option than the nuke option.
What’s wrong with negotiating forever?
