Discussion: Iowa Elections Chief Won't Seek More Funds To Educate Public About Voter ID

He needs to withdraw it then, because without adequate funding, it defeats the very role of the SOS, which is to enable voting.

And to think he was also one “potatoe” short of a happy meal.

Always thought it funny that GHW Bush always, among friends, referred to Quayle as “My impeachment insurance.”

Thanks for linking the Des Moines Register piece, so what the SoS is proposing is what they rolled out in MO for the last election. They couldn’t find me with my US Passport so what good is that system? And thinking about it some more what happens if the power goes out? Any poll workers on here want to chime in?

Pregnant too, at least the ladies. Then, when no options like birth control or abortion are available, turn out baby and Mom into the streets and tell’em to get a job…or die.

The Republiscum way!

Omg tiowally, wonder where you managed to dig up that priceless dan quayle quote. That says it all, really. I mean, just to know dan quayle actually had profound insights into the concept of a mind. For some reason my own little mind then dashed to sarah palin and immediately after, to kellyann conway, who seems to be a sort of sarah palin perfected.

Ouch! My head is starting to explode.

Hey! Teachers! Leave them kids alone

It is truly astonishing to me how much damage Trumppoliini has managed to unleash in such a short span of time. But then, i shouldn’t really be surprised; the authoritarian vote-suppressors have just been waiting for such a person in the Oval Office. Be careful what you wish for…

Old people. Iowa’s % of people over the age of 65 has been increasing…since forever.

OK, Dems, the gauntlet has been thrown down – we’re going to have to do the voter education ourselves. Wonder if there is a community organizer who could help us make sure ALL voters have the proper ID and can vote? Anyone have a recommendation???:wink::wink::wink::wink::wink::wink:

This was the Iowa Secretary of State’s office that spent $250,000 attempting to find cases of voter fraud. Result: 1 not guilty verdict, 4 cases dismissed. Convictions for voter fraud: zero.

But our Governor-For-Life Branstad is designated as Trump’s new Ambassador to China. Don’t let the door hit your ass on the way out.

I was thinking that too. We’re going to have fight our way to the ballots in '18.

Apparently, you don’t, either, since basically everything you wrote was false.

All you alt-lefties got alt-lefty at the altar. Identity politics and BLM and all that shit does nothing but alienate what is still the majority - white folks. Reading this comment stream, it’s not that the alt-lefties here think rural folks are racists. They also think that they are old and smelly. Hating and despising old people for being old is one of the funniest stereotypes there is. Because almost everyone here is gonna get old. And smelly. And wrinkly. And when they do, they will be smart like me, and think that the young snots are just a buncha punks.

GET OFF MY LAWN, YOU PUNK!!

And get a damn voter ID. You’ve only got 2 years. Can you do it by then?

Voter ID - coming to a bunch of whining alt-lefties near you, in every damn state that there is, by 2018.

I’m gonna do what I like to do the best - recalculate my taxes. Later.

Who cares. Iowa voters need to figure out what ID they need in order to vote, find their polling place or request an absentee ballot, and stay on it to confirm everything is in order and up to date. Come on people, just do it. We have to stop holding adults (i.e., voters) by the hand.
