Where did we go wrong? Surely Iowa has not become more rural. It’s got a well-educated voter base. It should be a solidly blue state in senatorial and national elections. So, where have Democrats gone off the rails?
That’s ‘right’. Change the law and don’t tell anybody about it. If they can’t vote, fk 'em.
Yeah, but it wasn’t a real leopard.
…and heaven forbid…but $arahPalin has improved by comparison…
Really? You don’t know?
Promising the sun to the BLM. Promising the sun to the hispanderers like Grijalva. And saying that all rural voters are racists. Telling all the white people that they have to apologize for being white before they are considered moral. Telling people that they need to pay more money to defend the illegals from ICE (which they are doing in CA - they are going to fund lawyers for criminals illegals).
And whining about voter ID requirements. Because a lot of people wonder why it is SOOOOO bad and evil to make people demonstrate that they have a right to vote. Note that it is legal for non-citizens to vote in some elections in some places:
“For presidential elections, all states require voters to be U.S. citizens, and there is nothing inherent about same-day registration that would make it easier for noncitizens to vote,” said Joshua Douglas, an election law professor at the University of Kentucky College of Law.
Douglas noted that some local jurisdictions do allow noncitizens to vote in certain elections, but it’s still illegal for them to vote in federal elections."
Stuff like that.
Identity crap.
Today, there are yellow-dog NODemocrats. They wouldn’t vote for a Democrat under ANY circumstances.
They don’t even bother to pretend anymore. Voter education/protection grassroots have a lot of work to do to neutralize their assault…
I can’t wait for Trump’s bungled renegotiation of NAFTA, punitive tariffs, anti-immigrant bullshit, etc. to start absolutely fucking the grain belt’s economy. Get all those far right old farmers off that sweet government welfare money.
Yup, keep 'em barefoot and ignorant. That’s th Republican way.
To clarify, not a photo ID law, rather a voter ID law. The purpose is to modernize and speed up the system. The key is for the plan to take effect as written by the Secretary of State and not get screwed with by Republican state lawmakers. Read:
The “smirking fuck” in the background is former Iowa Governor and former Obama Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack, one of the good guys. This must be an old stock photo from who-knows-when.
What’s your point? He should be strangling the little shit, not smiling with him.
As always, the formula holds true…R + IA = Asshole. Sad.
My point is the photo was probably taken years ago, when Vilsack was governor, long before Pate became Secretary of State.
Fair enough, I get your point, and I’m not trying to give you a hard time, but I’ve run out of fucks for this week.
Not on purpose. Trust us.
I lived in Iowa for ten years (1991-2001). It was a fairly tolerant state back then. It’s turned into a teabag shithole over the years.
It can flip back, but it will take work,
Apathy in part.
There are a lot of reasons as to why someone such as Ernst got in.
However a top five reason on the blue side, apathy.
Another reason is this idea that the government messed with me long enough.
The ironic thing is that folks who feel that way twice voted for Obama.
To their credit, SOS is going to use remaining funds to give folks a heads up.
It’s the Iowa Senate that i have an issue with.
