Discussion: Intel Community On House Panel Russia Findings: We Stand By Our Assessment

Rethugs have no respect for “smart” people or their agencies

Going to be interesting to see what shakes out at CIA with Pompeo going to State now that Rex is out. Wonder how much longer we can expect such unanimity among the intel community once Trump gets some other stoolie in there.

“We will review the HPSCI report findings”

…for evidence that Trump helped write them.

Russia is winning the war and we aren’t even fighting. They’ve no clue.

At least not while they are in elected office, it seems. This standing firm is from previously reliable (for the party) republican Dan Coats, suggesting that it is possible to stop playing pure partisan.

Never thought I would say something remotely nice about my former senator. But - good job, Dir. Coats.

In other news, DNI Director, Dan Coats, will soon be replaced by former Rep Devin Nunes

“…and we know who is trying to undercut what we do her (we also have things we know about them and long memories).”

How ‘brave’ of you Dan…it looks like all your other cronies are more than willing to let the Russians in…why should they do ANYTHING or ‘conclude’ actual FACTS when they can just blame others and keep their day jobs. We used to be better than this.

I see this as a stronger statement than it might look. More like Oliver Cromwell’s “I beseech you, in the bowels of Christ, think it possible you may be mistaken.”

Mueller’s final report is going to make their failure to pursue this look like the act of an accomplice.

I hope it comes back to haunt them in a tangible way.

Yeah, I was expecting Nunes to wind up at State or the CIA. :anguished:

I think the push back from the media and the Dems have been good and I’m encouraged to see this statement. I think Nunes took it too far when he even challenged the IC assessment. That felt like the hand of a very defensive Vladimir Putin pushing a certain propaganda angle. Vlad is a prickly sort who doesn’t like being called out. Theresa May and the USIC calling him out hurt his pride and make him feel insecure. There are many within Russia who do have a healthy respect for the balance of power and for maintaining international stability. They aren’t all aligned with Putin. Getting exposed like this may stimulate some resistance within Russia, as Navalny has been especially daring and brave. I hope that dude has a chemical detection kit that he uses before every meal/drink.

Under appreciated national hero Devin Nunes? Nah, he’s holding out for Lavrenti Beria’s old job.

A report from Nunes’ HPSCI isn’t worth even 20 Kobach reports on voter fraud.
