Discussion for article #233594

Just another “fiscally conservative” bleeding the Beast prior to starving it of revenues.

Living fancy on donors’ money may be fine in the GOP, but will it play in Peoria?

Come on, someone had to say it.

Illinois is broke, broke, broke and Schock is living it up on the taxpayers dime. He needs to go down in a fiery crash. There’s just no excuse for this.

Here’s another GOP creep having his own PAC, which he’s not supposed to coordinate with I thought, pay for his expenses out of campaign contributions, while his office reimbursement seems to be a lot less transparent. Its his own private little slush fund.

And to read that in 2013 the House, now under GOP leadership changed the reimbursement rules to include private chartered planes and not just commercial airlines, says all you need to know about how the current House GOP operates. Its so unseemly and disgusting.

Finally, the AP is doing their job on an investigative level, and not just phoning in their disguised opinion pieces for others to print…It’s about fucking time.

he is also gay. just another republican who is gay and spends money like it grows on trees. then he goes home and lies to all the old white people in his district about who and what he really is. he is the lowest type of politician and deserves all the tragedy that this reporting will bring to his pathetic personal life.

This is the reason a majority of people in this country have low opinions of Congress. If they lived as we do, maybe things would get done and they would experience what life is really like. for the most part, they live in a different world, and they get away with it because they make the laws. At some point in the future there will need to be another revolution.

Hmm, smells like Jesse Jackson Jr in some ways. Ol’ Jesse was the Heir Apparent, but now he’s just another felon doing 5-10, and still being hit with fines. Aaron, he of the 6-pack abs, is going to be a cell buddy of Jesse.

I haven’t heard this one. Personal knowledge, or is it gaydar at play here? He’s a guy who looks good, but that’s not an indication he’s gay.

He’s a fan of Downton. Must think he’s in England. Customary for a Prince to use the Royal Flight.

$18,000 in mileage reimbursement?

The GSA sets the rate for that, and it’s somewhere around .56 per mile. Where the hell was he traveling to rack up $18,000? His district isn’t that large, FFS.

“The expenses highlight the relationships that lawmakers sometimes have with donors…”

Correction, the relationships that lawmakers ALWAYS have with donors.

His Strategy: While you got it - suck every ounce of perks and benefits out of it - for as long as you can - loot the mini-bar … steal the towels … what the hell! there won’t be any problem getting re-elected … what a fantastic gig!

the PAC paid $1,440 to a massage parlor for a fundraising event.

I love an event with a happy ending!

He’d have an answer to that: privatize everything.

To follow up: Here are archived GSA mileage reimbursement rates

That means Rep. Schock traveled roughly 32,000 miles?

Um, sure, that’s believable…
