Nice summary, Tierney…

Great write up! Thank you.

P.S. Remember back in July when Josh had to explain that Trump Russia was a thing?

"Manafort had turned his passport into the FBI Sunday morning "

he knew…

he knew … Of course he knew. Makes me wander if this whole operation is already fixed.

So what happens next on Thursday at 2pm? And can anyone please tell me what an “unsecured appearance bond” means? Does that mean they didn’t have to put up the money at this time?

Friday - it comes before Monday. Manafort has FBI Prime.

“President Donald Trump was correct. There is no evidence the Trump campaign or Mr. Manafort colluded with the Russia government,”

As always with the Trumpers, comments have to be parsed. In this case, these particular indictments don’t attempt to link to Russia or Trump and, “no evidence” only means that nothing has yet been produced in relation to this case. Non-denial denial.

Sure would be great if one, or both, of these guys flips.

Nah, they tell you ahead of time so you don’t just blithely try to get on a plane out of the country for a little beach vacation.

Good work, Tierney (who gets to watch history happen while we work our shitty jobs). Never mind. Let’s all play at being Judge Amy and set some home confinement conditions for Manafort:

1 - Mr. Manafort, the court rules you will vacuum each and every rug you have purchased, totaling according to the FBI $900k+, each and every day on C-SPAN where America can enjoy it.

2 - yer turns guiz…

It’s “Inside Baseball.” Mueller let them know about this indictment. He failed to mention to anyone the George Papa thing. Now everyone is going crazy trying to remember everything they might have said to George since July. This was beyond brilliant. It’s epic.

It implies that on Thursday an agreement to the amount of the bonds and other requirements for the accused will be finalized. Unsecured means no money has been exchanged to secure the bond?

Yeah, it was a pro bookends move!

Also proved SC’s a leak-proof box. That Papadopolous conviction was in the bag for a month and not a driblet about it.

Be afraid, Donnie. Be very afraid.

Promise to pay if he skips, not secured with collateral. No need - his bank accounts are locked down. Manafort and his money are going nowhere for a good while.

But it isn’t so clear that Gates knew - no lawyer in place? Seems like an advantageous wedge for the feds.

So Manafort turned in his passport on Sunday but has been quoted as telling associates “privately” over the weekend that he did not expect to be indicted today…

Certainly with Manafort. Gates, however, wasn’t lawyered up. I think I read early this morning, that Manafort had to talk him into turning himself in (with Manafort) this morning. It appears that he did not have the same level of awareness of the deep trouble he was facing this morning. That is interesting.

“President Donald Trump was correct. There is no evidence the Trump campaign or Mr. Manafort colluded with the Russia government,” Downing said…

I think that this weird and odd statement by Downing is sending a veiled message to Preshitident Anusmouth-Putindickholster seeking a pardon…

Does Manafort know what Mueller knows?
