Discussion: Inside Democrats' Struggle With The Kavanaugh Accusation

If the Dems knew, I suspect the GOPers kenew about all this even sooner. McConnell had warned Trump that Kavanaugh was not the easiest person on their Federalist-list to move forward and “his past” may have been at least as much as concern as his inability to do well in the oral prep.

Just thinking about how donald’s admin has degraded the presidency, the DOJ, FBI, House and Senate. - if Kav is confirmed, then the SCOTUS is a joke, and donald will have achieved success in ruination of our entire gov’t. Quite the accomplishment.

Remember the first rule of repugs: Whatever they accuse dems and liberals of, the repugs are guilty of that very thing themselves. As today’s story about their knowledge of the second victim proves.

Lies and Projection, Projection and Lies. Every time, all the time.

A couple of weeks ago, I asked the readers here for their evaluation of Dianne Feinstein and her handling of the Ford letter. This was prior to Ms. Ford going public This response changed the way I looked on what DiFi was doing and how she was doing it. My apologies to thunderclapnewman for “outing” her/him, but I thought the insights were too good to stay in the archives at TPM. Here’s the response:

Feinstein is extremely knowledgeable, politically skillful, very careful, very deliberate, and not one to make rash decisions, or foolish actions.
When she does something—like this—she has weighed the issue and looked at several angles before settling on a course of action.
If she says this is a big deal (which referring it to the FBI shows) then it is a big deal.
She’ll act again, just at the right moment, and it will be worth waiting for.
Her age, her experience, and her caution are why lots on the far left dislike her.
Those are the qualities that make her dangerous to Trump and the GOP.
Do not make the mistake of underestimating her in any way.

What struggle? Just keep the pressure on as more and more incredibly brave women come forward with their accounts of GOP sex assaults. Believe me, more are coming. This is the GOP we’re talking about here.

They were out of “disarray”'s.

“They even considered hiring their own investigator to probe the allegations, but such a move would have run afoul of Senate rules requiring Democrats and Republicans on a committee to consult with each other.”

Since when do the Republicans on the committee consult with the Democrats about anything?
