Discussion for article #225873
Obscene. Anybody who defends it (warden, governor, senator) is a f#cking monster.
It was botched
[Inexpressible moral fucking outrage]
WTF??? Cant you just use anesthesia before killing someone. This is so stupid.
I oppose the death penalty but if you are going to do it the Chinese have the most humane method - a bullet in the brain.
Republicans everywhere read about this execution and fap away.
I don’t get it. Junkies manage to give themselves lethal injections quite effectively every single day.
Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) reacted to news of the execution by describing it as "torture."
So many contexts in just one sentence.
Bereft of enlightenment or self-awareness.
Reality isn’t what shocks you.
It’s what you do afterward.

The problem is that people with the medical training to be able to figure out how to kill someone with drugs, are very likely to have taken the Hippocratic oath, so they cannot use their knowledge to kill someone. That leaves the inadequately trained with the job of figuring out how to kill. Then, of course, there are the corporations who rightly object to someone routinely using their products to kill people. Perhaps all of this might someday persuade the majority of us that killing people is wrong?
The Second Amendment is irrelevant.
Americans think of themselves as moral Christians handing out stern revenge to noxious criminals. No amount of suffering, they feel, is too much. Accounts like this fall on deaf ears, steeled souls.
Insulated by this perversion of Christianity, the conservative movement has built a penal system that allows government to conduct medical experiments in secrecy upon potentially innocent citizens. The latter is proven. Scroll up to see the truth about experimentation. This is all now indisputable fact.
It’s ironic how the conservative movement has convinced people that here, certainly, government is the solution.
It says something about their confidence in the effectiveness of the execution drug-combo that they had at least 14 additional doses on hand as backup.
"parts of the execution went “perfectly”
Just a little quality control issue to them I guess.
The way these people talk about killing someone for 2 hours is absurd.
Look, the floors were freshly mopped and the concession stand made a little extra since everyone had to hang around for a while.
And the janitorial staff did an excellent job of cleaning up the saliva/mucous/blood foam spray.
Here’s a way that would be instant:
Make the inmate french-kiss Gov Brewer with their eyes wide open!
15 doses? And there weren’t any problems?
That’s some toxic denial going on there in Arizona…
For our next medical experiment on live specimens, let’s see if injecting a human subject with 15 doses of water will cause death. I can find no record of such an experiment in the Nazi Death Camps.
You’re saying that those are the parts that went “perfectly,” I assume.
No, I think it will lead to us “privatizing” the death penalty with a special government charter to manufacture lethal chemicals and experiment with their use on live human subjects. The corporations would then be allowed to patent the chemicals and the process at taxpayer expense. It’s a Win-Win!
