Discussion for article #236975

The worst part, as John Oliver pointed out last night- is that this article seemed so credible that the guy actually believed it- shows just how corrupt FIFA is.

Keeping the dopes honest, one Onion article at a time.

He is a former FIFA Vice President. Do we know whether he has suffers from sort of dementia? If not he has just laid the foundation for a terrific defense. He is just too dumb to be a big time crook.

The IOC must be very happy. FIFA are amateurs compared to them.

The real hoax is, that ‘FIFA’ actually stands for something…

other than greed and corruption, that is.

I think that if Jack Warner and the corrupt FIFA officials are brought to justice in the United States in about a year or so, they might be able to claim they were exercising their Religious Freedoms – football is a well established and mainstream religious practice on Sundays in many countries.

Also, the RATS on the Supreme Court think that money is free speech, which means that bribery, money laundering, insider trading and price fixing are all protected by the First Amendment.

What is really surprising is that FIFA did not have an legal organizational, corporate structure that would protect its officials like the NFL and the financial institutions.
